If anyone wishes to see some 2025 planespotting and be able to base their routes off it,
Trying to hunt some more videos down of the airport especially if it’s the next remodel.

Im looking forward to the surrounding area like they did with INN
The railways station, military area and the road intersection will be big ones I’ll be looking out for. They’ve got more of an advantage with BRI with it being more out of town compared to INN.
For those of you who like to play BRI with a degree of semi-realism, how do you all assign planes to gates to feel realistic enough? There’s enough inconsistency looking at flights on flight radar that replicating more than a general strategy doesn’t seem worth it to me, so this is what I’ve settled on so far, and if anyone has suggestions or things of their own to share, please do so (and if you have any cool historical / locally important contracts I am missing, please do add to my list!
Main Terminal:
311 – Non-Schengen Flag Carriers (BA, Turkish)
307/309 – Schengen Flag Carriers (Aegean, Austrian, Air France, SAS, Edelweiss)
304/305 – ITA Airways (as well as Aeroitalia and Alitalia contracts)
302 – Lufthansa w/ Subsidiaries and Partners (Air Dolomiti, LuxAir)
Remote Stands:
301/303 – Mixed Budget / LCCs (Vueling, Volotea, Norwegian, Transavia, EasyJet Schengen Destinations)
306 – Eurowings / Discover
308/310 – RyanAir and related brands (Lauda Europe, Buzz, Malta Air)
201 / 205 – United 767s, Neos 789s, Air Italy 332s
101/104 – historical contracts: Helvetica F100, CarpatAir F100
102/103 – Wizz Air & Wizz Air Malta
105/105 – Non Schengen Budget / LLCs (Air Cairo, Israir, EasyJet UK destinations)
400s (A/B stands ) – Air Serbia and SkyAlps
Cargo
Poste Air Cargo is the only cargo contractor that I find flying into BRI regularly, so I have them scheduled at 401. Not sure if there are any other cargo operators that make sense.
Semi-realism, I have a couple of DHL contracts, just 734’s and 738’s from LEJ, Porto and the West Atlantic one from Malmo cause I hadn’t unlocked it yet, as well as the TNT B463 cause I love that fella.
Same sort of case with the main terminal. All my legacy airlines go there and my 767 connections of which I prioritise cause I’m not a fan of the E stands, though they’re mainly Air Italy and Neos with an Alitalia A332 doing the run to JFK (In place of Eurofly who used to do it but we don’t have in-game). ITA and Alitalia share the gates with everything from the E190 upwards. Smaller E170s which I have Egyptair’s and Royal Jordanian’s, go to the two walking spots.
Everything else is a hodgepodge of irl routes, past routes and some that look semi decent. I do have a couple of left field ones like an Asiana 763 but that’s the fun of the airport.
I ended up skipping DHL as BRI wasn’t on the DHL aviation cargo website – Contacts | Aviationcargo. I didn’t think about TNT… I wonder if there is any evidence they or ASL ever flew to Bari… Will have to do some research. I had marked them as a potential realistic route for PRG, and I figure the more routes I keep unique to each airport the more reason I’ll have to bounce around when they make sense!
I get not liking the E stands. I wish we had the overlap. It appears Bari is getting 789 service this summer, but I’d still like the ability to park C or D planes there without using the main stands. The UA 767 did land there this last week though, so I’ll live with it for now.
If you have any favorite past routes to share, those are the ones I always find the most interesting. I did use your wiki post a bit, but a lot of the ones I got excited about are either missing airlines and/or liveries out side of the CarpatAir and Helvetica Fokker’s.
I had another 2 half finished, tried to get Gemini to read the past site and transscribe it for moe to save me a bit of time but it started putting current routes in and pulling random crud out of thin air so I was just finishing off Winter 2012/13 when exam season began. Will finish it next week. A lot of the airlines for past routes are missing like Air One and Spanair plus Volotea not being a local is a little vexing, hopefully they will be when the 717 is added. A good one is Alitalia did run a route to Turin for a while I believe utilising the E190 and occasionally an A319 so that could be a good one. Ofc like you say the Helvetica Fokker was used for Swiss in the 2010s and Carpatair did some flights in and out too.
I’ll add more to this in a min, just going to look through it haha
Alitalia flew their E175 to Bologna in Summer 2012 and if we had the Air Europa 737-800 (One for later in the year as we’ll definitely get it, albeit in the new livery and not the one they used) did the Barcelona route prior to Vueling taking over in 2013. Another one is Lufty’s Dusseldorf route which I believe was the CRJ 900 (Again wrong livery but fits) because I’ve seen photo evidence of it at the airport, but ChatGPT and Gemini say was done by the A319.
And TNT wise, I believe they used to have a large stake in Air Mistral in the early 2000’s and late 1990’s, with their B463’s occasionally doing the route but sadly it’s a really struggle to find photo evidence of the flights. Tbh, anything prior to the late 2010s is tough to find unlike INN and PRG. Only other one with this much trouble in Europe is LEJ, which I think has better records than BRI lol.

These are some good ones. I wish we had the older liveries but there is a degree that I do have to substitute things (and sometimes I just do so because I like another livery more). For example, a lack of any LuxAir’s larger than an E145 at BRI lol.
Are you sure it was Lufthansa CRJ9s that flew BRI<>DUS? I’ve only found Eurowings CRJ9s which I don’t believe we have in the game (I would totally swap out my A320-series plane for one of these if it was added). https://www.flightaware.com/live/flight/EWG1873
I’ve had a mixed bag using AI for airport research lol. It is very prone to hallucinating things that aren’t there.
Yeah, I sometimes tell it to ignore modern stuff and it said ‘Okay boss’ then proceeds to include it haha.
It was a mix of the two. DUS was a major Lufty base inthe late 2000s when they were still actively interested in being a competitor to the likes of LTU and Air Berline, with a lot of those flights being operated by Eurowings as you mention, but some were operated by Lufthansa themselves using the CityLine brand (RIP) so it was a bit of a mix.
Another one you could use is the CRJX for Iberia’s MAD route in place of the irl CRJ9 they used in the late 2000’s and early 2010’s. Might be something a little different to the A320 and 737 spam. I believe, based off gemini but after much questioning and discussion, that BRI was never a destination for LUX’s E145’s and it was most definitely the 737 which we should see in the near future with the 738 and Q400 occasionally jumping in when demand dictated. I tried to access its source but it was in Italian and wouldn’t load up for me so I gave up haha. Though like you I elected to use the E145 cause its cool and different.
Again, in the future depending on the 737’s we get, Air One’s 734’s were a regular there until they were replaced the the A320s in 2010ish after Alitalia was consolidating, as well as BA’s 734’s doing the route from Gatwick till their retirement and the fleet replaced with A320s and A321s. When I’ve got more time at the end of this week I’ll see what I can dig up.
From what I can tell, the current route is operated with the B737, E295, and the occasional B738. We probably didn’t get the E295 LuxAir variant as it wasn’t delivered until the end of November of 2025 which if my memory serves was after the Embraer family was remodeled and expanded. I should check if a livery request has been made for that..
Edit: A livery request was made for it! -

That’s a nice call actually… I don’t have anything flying to Madrid at the moment (how many RyanAirs do you really need lol) and have no CRJXs at any airport I am currently playing… and there isn’t any backtracking here to make me annoyed at them.
Just Noticed, BRI has more accurate tracking now showing on FR24, I was trying to see I can monitor where UAL parks for realism and noticed it shows most other airlines and where they park
Couple of weeks back the planes were approaching the runway then vanishing so must be a relatively new thing. Very glad as I was also trying to see what parked where haha.
Have to say, you might be producing some of the best lineups on this here forum. Been expanding my slots for more LCC carrier routes recently and just got my first SAS new livery Airbus for the Copenhagen route as I’ve been using the B738 everywhere else as it has the nicer lviery haha.
The new SAS livery is so clean. I have that on my A320 at INN. I think when I was looking at these flights on FR I decided to go with a 738 for some reason and having the variety of liveries makes playing each worth it! Thanks for the kind words! I wish some of the other airports were a bit easier to make lineups at during non-bulk play though. These small airports are great for immersion.
