Exchange/suggestions for improvement on the new planning system

The new scheduling system is generally good, but I would like to see the aircraft divided into two contract categories (local, regional, and international) to assign gate positions more realistically. Another option would be to schedule aircraft by time in the scheduling system, using a 24-hour format, so that the aircraft can be individually scheduled according to the times at the respective stands. This would make the whole thing a bit more exciting and provide a great challenge.

I would actually really like to see a 24-hour based scheduling system, along with adjustment of in-game time and flight/handling lengths. It would help us die-hard realism players massively.

Yes i wish me too

These prerequisites require system support, and it is obvious that the current version cannot provide realism. Moreover, this is already a simplified version of the A-CDM system logic

This system requires a large amount of precise calculations. It is obvious that the current game does not have it.

For me as a rl-player i would love to have a real time/time-based/24 hours format to make a REAL scheduling at the airports, but note that there are a few things to think about:

  • Longhaul contracts will need 20 - 30 hours for a trip, so you can play them max 1 time a day
  • They will stay at the airport 2-6 hours (who can play that long everyday?)
  • Most of the time i play the game at the same daytime (afternoon/evening), means i would play the same contracts every day and wont see the morning/noon/night flights
  • What happens to the contracts arriving when not playing the game???are they going around automaticly? That would absolutely missmatch the idea of the game we all love to play…

All that will just make sence, if the time stops in-game when not playing, but how long will it take to develope a new airport then?

So as much as i would love to see a time-based system, im afraid it would not work out with the way the game is designed now…

How long will it take take to develop a new airport then?

I think this is a great question. Lets consider two extremes:

  1. Player has all airports unlocked, but the next airport is a HUGE airport in HKG. How long will it take to get this airport running?

  2. A player is just starting the game, and is trying to build up INN. This little airport will take forever as well, and how many players will make it through this airport to play the rest of the game with a 24 hour system?

Doesn’t need a 24hr schedule as it won’t work in game as it’s not based on real time, what it needs is for it to work properly and not have missing contracts, so if you have five contracts on one gate after the fifth contract the first contract that was assigned to that gate will land again if it’s back if not then gate stays empty till first contract has arrived and departed again and repeat. Though this only works if you want airport to be realistic and have correct airlines at correct parking spots/terminals, otherwise forget the schedule and just use Arrival/Departure/delivery manager and ground.

Though interesting the devs haven’t said anything about it.

Yes, somehow it seems that way. I don’t know, but the planning system definitely has room for improvement and could become a really good feature if the developers develop it further with realistic functions. Before all that can happen, however, we first need the real tenses and real times of day in the game. Then, I think, we can plan the aircraft realistically and create proper arrival and departure plans.

Not sure if times would work, because if an aircraft delayed do we not get awards at end of contract because it was delayed too much, especially with player contracts and if they not daily players.

Agree… but how would you implement time in the game? You mean realtime or maybe with a clock running somewhere on the screen (this could run faster than realtime i.e.)? Would be nice, but i really doubt that will ever happen  (already mentioned some reasons above)

Yes, using a clock in the game, and then planning flights based on times in a dedicated planning system, allowing realistic arrival and departure schedules to be created. Time in the game shouldn’t run faster, but rather be realistic. Accordingly, the ratio of daylight to the player’s daily form should also adjust accordingly, as I already discussed in one of my posts.

Hmmm ok… and how you would handle the problems mentioned above? i really dont see the game in realtime unfortunately…

How many planes can you take in a day using real time.Does your device support such high computing power?

Of course, everything else would have to change completely, including time management. This means that the respective aircraft check-in times are based on the schedules we create. For example: we plan an arrival at 12:00 PM for a local flight at Gate 8 of Terminal 1… the aircraft will then land at 12:00 PM, and in the game it is also 12:00 PM (real time). Now we have a departure scheduled for 12:45 PM for this aircraft, so the aircraft will be on the ground for 45 minutes and will be prepared during this time. The system or AI would have to recognize the check-in time and fill it in with the ground crew’s tasks, thus making the aircraft preparation more realistic. That would be my line of thought in this regard.

Everyone can plan as many flights in one day as they want, or they can plan it weekly. At the airports there are also flights that take place several times a week, so (for example) in the game you could plan a flight with Lufthansa from Frankfurt to London on Monday, Thursday and Friday, each with arrival and departure times.

Nah that take too long and people won’t play it, it’s mobile simulator game not PC or games consoles.

Though one other thing be good is a clear schedule setting, as I deleted the schedule for T2 and it took too long so won’t bother with others but I did get some missing contracts back.

It just needs to be tested by the developers and then we’ll see what they think. It’s just a possible suggestion for what it could look like. Perhaps the developers have a more suitable solution for how it would work on mobile devices. And who knows, maybe there will be a PC version at some point where such projects would be possible.

Not to mention it take too long for the level ups. It just be good if it worked in first place and not just one aircraft per gate.
