Dear Development Team,
I would like to propose a feature aimed at significantly improving realism, immersion, and strategic control within World of Airports.
Currently, when operating airports with multiple runways—such as São Paulo/Guarulhos International Airport—runway usage is automatically assigned by the system. Aircraft land on a predefined runway and take off from another, with no option for player intervention. While functional, this limits the depth and authenticity of airport operations.
Core Proposal
Introduce an optional Manual Runway Control system, allowing players to:
Assign specific runways for arrivals and departures
Select which runway a particular flight or aircraft should use
Dynamically adjust runway usage based on traffic flow or personal strategy
Objectives
Enhance realism by reflecting real-world airport operations
Increase player agency and strategic depth
Provide a more immersive and customizable gameplay experience
Suggested Implementation
To ensure accessibility and balance:
Add this feature as an optional mode (toggle ON/OFF)
Provide a clear and intuitive runway management interface
Allow players to define:
Fixed configurations (e.g., Runway A for landings, Runway B for takeoffs)
Mixed-use runways (flexible operations)
Include visual indicators for runway occupancy and traffic flow
Additional Enhancements
To further expand the system’s potential:
Wind direction and weather conditions affecting runway selection
Ability to temporarily close runways (maintenance, emergencies, incidents)
Introduction of traffic congestion consequences for poor planning
Advanced option for a future ATC-like (Air Traffic Control) system
Priority settings (e.g., emergency landings, VIP flights, heavy aircraft)
Expected Benefits
Stronger appeal to players who enjoy realistic simulation mechanics
Increased engagement and long-term retention
Greater differentiation from other airport management games
I believe this feature would add meaningful depth to the gameplay, especially for players managing complex airports and seeking a more authentic operational experience.
Thank you for your time and for the continuous improvements to the game.
