Clouds are beautiful, I’ve noticed them a few times now at Zurich. I’m more surprised though with how they got away with using The Stranglers ![]()
Wouldn’t it be amazing if the 737 update includes built in air stairs?! Would add a lot of realism to carriers like Ryanair who use them almost exclusively.
I mean it’s only 1 airline though
Is that a 737 original?
There were actually quite a few airlines who used the built in air stairs option, we primarily saw this on the older variants such as the -100/200 series. Nowadays it’s a rarer sight, but still one of the coolest features of the 737 family (and the 727, DC9 as well)
By that logic the 77WF, CRJ2F, DH8B, SF34F, 767 RR engine option, and E190F, and by extension planes with like 2 or 3 operators, shouldn’t be in game either
In seriousness though… Does it really matter? Little things like that make certain airlines unique to see in a sea of otherwise similar planes, I see no issue in adding it even if it is only 1 airline
I think it need to be other 737-800 or max8 model in backend. Due to it has other mechanism extra. Also the order of the mechanism need to added.
I doubt it, I bet it’d work the same as winglets or engine variants, just add the extra animation for Ryanair & other airlines that may use it
Also the stairs out of plane like ryanair need other animation people stepping out of plane. Im not against they add it, only think its a lot more work. Maybe charly can clarify if its alot more work as i think or as other think. If charly want to tell it
As he said in the L410 development timeline, each element which moves needs a lot of work, and with things like these, they need modification to the 3D model too so I doubt it is that easy, basically would need a whole new model…
I mean that adding a new animation for 1 airline might not be worth it, but it would be cool if it was added.
it isn’t a purely cosmetic change anymore, it affects the animations. Thus it would actually need to be a whole new model.
Charlie said this when discussing the flight deck camera. Because they would have to change the crew animations, it cannot be handled modularly. This is the same issue.
- Small visual differences can be handled modularly
- Major cockpit layout differences cannot
Here’s it in-action. Would be ace to see.
And I agree wholeheartedly, something a bit different for a small number of aircraft out of the majority of liveries. Irl ofc, Ryanair has nearly 800 of these buzzing around Europe so even if it’s one airline, it’s quite common to see at a majority of airports. And the animations at least could partly be used when the Mad Dogs and 727 come in the future, to name but 2.
I mean the airstair passenger animation already exists on smaller aircraft like the ATRs, Dash 8, etc so it’s definitely doable. Whether they want to spend the time doing it is a different story altogether.
definitely doable, just not sure if they want to. It would require an entirely separate model, they can’t do it modularly like they can winglets, as it is a whole new animation.
Wouldn’t it be an animation they add on to the aircraft and then depending on the livery, deactivate it? I honestly don’t know though so this might be completely wrong, best person to answer that would be Honza haha.
I wouldnt be entirely against the use of the airstairs as that would be kinda cooler thna seeing the staris they have on the tarmac roll in instead. Wouldnt it be more simpler for that to be used for open stands?
Does anyone have anymore news on the upcoming update? Would still love to see those PRG sneak peeks!
