Is the A35K worth it?

I’m saving up for either the A35K or the B789X. Which one would you recommend. Im looking for a long range E class plane which had a decent return.

Ive currently unlocked the e190, A21NYX, MD11F and the B748.

Let me know your thoughts.

Between those two planes, I would recommend the A35K. It pays better than the 787X and has a longer range, as it has the longest range of all the fleet aircraft.

Are you focusing on leveling up faster or getting wollars. The A35K is superior in both but especially in leveling up. It gives you 135 xp for 10 handlings as opposed to the 98-100 xp from the B789/B78X.

A35K may give you more XP, but it does not generate more wollars:

Although the A35K have a longer range, it peaks profitability at around 4.700nm, while the B789/B78X peaks at around 5.000nm.

B789/B78X also uses less handlers, so it’s better suited for airports with lower handlers count.

I know many people like the A35K as a fleet plane, but personally, I’d go with the B744 or the B77W instead.

Personally I feel that profitability is actually a terrible metric, and you could definitely be more profitable with a less profitable plane if it used less handling crew or had better landing capabilities. Most people aren’t gonna be worried about wollars once they have a few widebody aircraft.

Definitely agree with you. Trust me, I’ve gotten enough 787 planes from premium passes to know its shortcomings to the A35K as one of my fleet planes. Even though you might see the B78X hitting 10K wollars more frequently than the 787, it’s only going to be a difference of 500-1000 wollars. Maybe 1500 at the maximum. You are still going to break even and level up further at the same time (if a 35 xp difference doesn’t sound a lot, think about how valubale that is in the beginning!)

By the time you’ve finished building your fleet, XP problably won’t matter either, at least not for yourself. In the end, it all comes down to personal taste and objective.

For me, there are 2 types of (good) airports:
Either the bottleneck is the RWY, or it’s the handling crew.

For airports like LHR or GRU, I’d go straight with the B748 or A388, as you have plenty of handling crew and the RWY is the bottleneck. The bigger the plane, the better, as bigger means more wollars/XP/SP per landing.

For airports like IAD, SCL, MCT… land too many A35K or B744 and you won’t have enough crew to handle them. That’s where the B789/X shines, with the A21NY also being a good choice.

The A35K is a great choice if you’re helping someone else level up, and together with the A21NY/X and A388, he’s amongst some of the best choices for PAX SP/XP farming though World Contracts. Slower beginning vs players, but eventually the instant turnaround and no maintenance will play in your favour.

Thanks for that. If the A35K peaks at 4700nm, would it better to go for the A388?

Thatflyerguy and nomansland made some very good points and it really depends which airport you’re playing and what your goal is.

I personally like the B748 better then the A388 in this game in a “spreadsheet comparison” (stats-wise), but the A388 is a popular choice because… well, it’s the A380, the biggest commercial plane ever in real life… can’t deny it looks pretty cool in game.

That said, it’s very unfair to compare the A388 to the A35K. The A388 is a F class airplane, while the A35K is an E class plane, meaning not all stands will be able to receive an A388. F stands also costs more to unlock, which might be a problem in an airport’s early days. The A388 uses 13 handling crew and takes over 20 minutes to handle, while the A35K uses 10 crew and 12-14 minutes.

Ain’t a problem if you’re sending just one A388, but people here sends whole fleets between each other, and there isn’t many airports that can handle 10 or 20 A388 simultaneously. Well, actually, there’s currently only one airport that can land and handle A388s-only non stop: LHR.

Eventually, you’ll want to unlock the A388, since it’s kinda cheap. But for now, between the two, I’d start with the A35K!

I think both the A35K and B789 are solid planes that have a role in most people’s fleets. For me, the A35K is my primary plane because of the following:

  1. Some of the Greatest Route Diversity for Player connections
  2. Not excessive in handling crew needs
  3. Excellent Usable Range
  4. Adequate enough profit.

The B789 has some nice routes, and its very useful at airports where handling crew is an option, and its one I would get eventually, but not one I would prioritize (heck I’m still kicking it down the road to buy other things lol!)

The one downside to this game’s economy is the way it scales makes all currencies essentially “meant to be wasted” at some point. It’s one of the reasons why I almost never continue to play airports after they are maxed. There just becomes a point where you are collecting currency for the sake of collecting currency and the return in fun gets reduced.

I would get the 787-9. As was mentioned before, not only is its profitability hig, it’s also a very versatile plane, requiring less handling crew and time and it’s able to fly to lower demand destinations. It’s great for ultra-long-hauls (but so is the 350), but also shorter flights. Personally, I wouldn’t unlock the 787-10 just because the profitability and versatility aren’t as good. The A350 is also good (especially for ultra-long flights), but I personally prefer the 777 for my fleet - once again, higher profitability made the decision for me and I don’t regret it. Regarding compatibility with your existing fleet, both are quite good but I feel like the 787 would better fill in the gap between narrowbodies and large widebodies (once again, it’s a bit smaller), but the A350 does that job just fine too.
