Is there any benefit from using the schedule?

Is there any benefit from using the schedule? I have to assign the airplanes to the gates manually anyway, and the specific airplane being in a schedule only restricts me from assigning it to another gate even though it’s available. There’s no in-game reward from adhering to the schedule, if I’m not mistaken. Why using it?

  1. You can define which aircraft size is allowed at each stand. So you can prevent, that the delivery manager use a stand for C class and this stand is blocked maybe for later incoming bigger planes, if allowed.
  2. You can assign contracts to specific stands. This is useful, if you like realistic game play. So you can assign specific airlines to specific gates, they where also used in real life. I use this feature for example to accelerate the process at the airport. At example at IAD, the R stands will be used from delivery manager only one times maximum. After that RWY 19L is only less in use for two L stands, because all other C planes use all other C stands. Another example is in MCT, ther eyou can now block stands 1 to 8 for all planes, so you can prevent that departing planes cross RWY and block arrinving planes to land. You can to this like the descritption here in point 1 or by scheduling planes to the main terminal and you can use stands otherwise for example for planes which has to wait until player accept the contract. I could tell you much more examples also for other airports!
  3. You don´t have to use the schedul manager. You can, but it´s not a have to do mandatory.

I think the schedule system is really a big change in the game and has opened new oportunities to manage your airport, according to your needs and preferences.

You can (dis)allow aircraft sizes at each stand without using the schedule as well.

It’s good for places like Heathrow if you want airlines at the correct terminals.
