Kinda obvious with me but the A340-600. I have China Eastern and the Expo livery, Cathay, Hainan, Virgin Atlantic, Iberia and Qatar. Missing a couple but that’s most. I’ll have to unbox the lot and display them but not sure I have enough space haha.

Unfortunately I probably can’t go to the Gatwick model fair this year, busy on the day, so should I buy models from stores like AMS or Bedfordshire Diecast or save even more money for next year (I have about Ā£200)

  • Save more money for next year
  • Have a look to see what I can have delivered

If I were you, I’d just save the money not until next year, but until you find a model you really want such as a new preorder. It’s also worth keeping some for any possible sales as well, as I know ARD have some good sales on every now and again, and they also have their own line of 1/400 BA models such as the new 747s.

Yeah that’s a good idea, I’ll have a look on ARD AMS and other stores and see what I think looks good, put that in my basket and think about it, then if I get anything saved some money for sales like you said and whatever is left by next year can go into the fair along with some more money.

Thinking of spending the money on stuff that isn’t models, like stuff like this on Ebay:

Then make an airport that i’ve got wood for, and a quick drawing of a layout that could work.

I’m not sure if it’s any good though, excuse the scruffiness done in like 2 minutes.

Looks good to me, I’m planning on working on my new main airport at some point. My new jetbridges arrived last week so I’m just waiting for my Sunclass A339 and those NG Condor 753s to be released and then it’ll be time to get started I think.

I do think think there’s some kind of promotion on eBay at the moment, as I keep seeing prices with coupons so it might be worth looking around see what you can find discounted there, I’d definitely consider some of the new (technically rereleased) JC Wings jetbridges, they are brilliant.

My smaller airport I’m happy with now, so it’s just a matter of diversifying the models I’m getting for it and trying to get the maximise use out of the models across different timeframes and airports, for example I put in a request to cancel my Lufthansa A320neo preorder last night and ordered an Air France A318 instead.

I preordered it off Aircraftmodelstore, it’s an upcoming release by Aviation400. I’ve already got a Sunclass A321 and A333, so here’s hoping for the A321neo and the A332 at some point. Hopefully some more Condor narrowbodies come out as well.

One of the main appeals to modelling both a British airport and an airport in the Canary Islands is the nice mix of models that I end up with, be they for one airport or both of them.

Yeah the JC bridges are great, shame they have such a steep price tag lol, might be a future investment when I’m upgrading an airport or something, am thinking what timeline to make it if i started to do it, i’ve a couple models that could work for a mid 2010s airport, which would be cool, or i could be boring and go with current lol.

I preordered a couple of the 737 ones, as my main idea is to have my terminal split between an older style building with the old Gemini Jets jetbridges and a more modern part with the JC Wings ones.

Like an extension, i like it, could work for a very nice setup, could even get some of the construction stuff Avgeek models have on either the older section for repairs or finishing up the newer side.

Pretty much, the terminal I was using for my old airport is what I intend to use for the ā€˜newish’ extenstion with the glass jetbridges, and the bits I got a few months ago as the ā€˜older’ section of the airport from when it was first built with the older jetbridges. Nice bit of visual variation I think.

Yeah, Where’d you get that old terminal you currently have with the tower, reminds me of LHRs old one.

That I got from Avgeekmodels, it is actually the old LHR one… :joy:

Works perfectly as a terminal for a smaller airport, but is big enough to not look silly with larger planes. I’ve also got the MAN tower to use on my main airport.

Personally would add some more parking area for a few extra models but it might be because I have hundreds lol
