I would like to ask why airlines from Russia, North Korea, and other territories are not featured in WoA.

Why are there no Russian Airlines or Aircraft in the game?

Short Answer: Russia’s invasion of Ukraine Following the Invasion of Ukraine, the developers took the decision to remove Airlines (Aeroflot and S7 as examples) and not add any Russian aircraft into the game. This is their decision alone. In support of the Ukrainian people. Note that while Antonov does have some Russian origins, it’s generally been accepted as being Ukrainian, hence why the A225 and others have remained in the game. As for Air Koryo, I don’t know if it might possibly come if Antonov An-148 is ever added, but as it stands, none of the aircraft types they use are available in the game.

The Russia-Ukraine conflict is a complex issue requiring a multifaceted perspective. If you are Ukrainian, you would certainly side with Ukraine against Russian aggression, and conversely, if you are Russian, you would certainly side with Russia against Ukrainian aggression, right? If we are outside the conflict, we should seek peace, remain neutral, take no sides, not support either side, and oppose war that causes loss of life, economic damage, and social suffering.

It’s not really up for discussion. The devs decided upon it at the time and due to the war still going on, they’re not willing to change that opinion. When the war ends then they will likely revert the decision.

I’m not a dev so I don’t know their reasoning but I presume it was for the fact the invasion was illegal and was a direct attack on European ideals of which they happen, as do I, to be European.

I understand the point of some players, especially those outside of Europe, but the decision stands and will stand till the war ends.

I’d like to invite @ukplanespotter757 or @Thatflyerguy to please close the thread before it really “gets going”.

I’m sure many of us in the community have their own personal opinions on which airlines should and shouldn’t be included, but ultimately the developers make that decision, and since there’s no way to satisfy multiple opposing views, the best thing is for them to just do what they personally think is the right choice.
