New Aircraft types - X

XXL, and don’t know if there’s anywhere we could even land it.

That plane looks straight out of a meme :joy:

What would it do though? It’s not really a cargo plane, or a passenger plane

From what I have researched it appears to carry air-launch-to-orbit rockets which is attached to the center of the wing. maybe a feature to carry special cargo like wind turbine, or rockets?

LEJ or MCT maybe?

I think the wheel and wing span would prevent it from taxiing anywhere at a normal airport, even big ones. It has specially designed strips it lands at in the U.S. It requires 12,000ft of runway for takeoff and has a wheel base width of about 40m (100ft) which leaves less than 25ft on either side on normal runways. At pretty much any airport you’re risking taking out center field weather sensors (20m tall), nav buildings, other aircraft on taxiways, etc. It also mentions it’s been re-tasked with hypersonic testing now that it’s under new leadership since 2019.

I’d be open to some events being for refueling or even just maintenance (plane sits at gate for 24 min).

Yeah, true, but as previously said, it’s way too big for any airport currently

Would the B777-9 be classed as an X aircraft? With B777-8 being a L.

I doubt it as B744 is L, and the 777-9s folding winglets also shrinks its wingspan.

B777-9 is 251ft 9in in length and B744 is 231ft 10in so 20ft shorter, with the wingspan for B777-9 being 235 ft 5 in (71.75 m), 212 ft 9 in (64.85 m) [folded] and B744 is 211 ft 5 in (64.44 m). So the B777-9 should definitely be an X aircraft, it’s even 1ft longer then the B748 which is an X aircraft

Maybe it would be a X than.

I agree with @TheLegendRacer001 that the Lockheed C-5 Galaxy should be added as a X type cargo/military.
