What is your suggestion?
Clearly describe your idea or the change you’re proposing.
Whenever an aircraft arrives at an airport for the first time under a new contract, a “Follow Me” vehicle should appear in front of the aircraft and guide it to its assigned stand—similar to real airport operations when crews are unfamiliar with the layout. This would work in a similar way to the water-salute feature that already appears for new contracts when they arrive for the first time, adding another special moment to first-time operations.
How would it work in the game?
Explain how this would be implemented from a gameplay or UI perspective.
When a new-contract aircraft lands and vacates the runway:
• A Follow Me vehicle spawns ahead of the aircraft.
• It drives along the taxiway route toward the assigned stand.
• The aircraft follows it at normal taxi speed.
• Once the aircraft reaches the stand, the vehicle disappears.
This could be:
• Automatic for first-time arrivals (like the water salute), or
• Optional via a settings toggle for players who prefer a simpler experience.
It could remain purely visual, or slightly affect taxi time for extra immersion—depending on developer preference.
Why is this a good idea?
What improvement would this bring? Better usability, realism, fun factor, accessibility?
• Builds on an existing mechanic (water salute) for first-time arrivals.
•Increases immersion and airport atmosphere.
•Makes new contracts feel more memorable.
•Adds life to taxiways, especially at large hubs.
•Doesn’t give gameplay advantages—just visual realism.
