Other – World of Airports on Nintendo Switch 2 Version / Console Port

:bullseye: What is your suggestion?
I would like to suggest the possibility of bringing World of Airports to Nintendo Switch 2 in the future.

I understand that this would be a big challenge for the development team. Porting a game like World of Airports to a console would involve technical work, performance optimization, UI changes, controller support, touchscreen adaptation, and possibly changes to the way accounts and purchases work.

However, I also think it could be a revolutionary step for the game and something that World of Airports truly deserves. It is already a very unique and detailed airport management game, and bringing it to Nintendo Switch 2 could help it reach a much wider audience.

Many players, including myself, would even be willing to pay for a Nintendo Switch 2 version of the game, especially if it offered a smooth, well-adapted console experience.

:hammer_and_wrench: How would it work in the game?
The game could be adapted with a console-friendly interface, using both controller inputs and optional touchscreen controls.

For example:

  • The left stick could move the camera.

  • The right stick could rotate the camera or control zoom.

  • Buttons could be used to select aircraft, stands, terminals, contracts, menus, and airport services.

  • Touchscreen controls could be available in handheld mode, making it easier to select aircraft, assign stands, and manage operations.

  • Menus could be redesigned to be more readable and comfortable on a TV screen.

  • Graphics and performance settings could be optimized for stable gameplay.

  • Account syncing could allow existing players to continue their progress from mobile or PC, if possible.

The game could be released as a paid version, a free-to-play version with in-game purchases, or even as a separate console edition if that would be easier to manage.

:balance_scale: Why is this a good idea?
I believe World of Airports is an ideal game for Nintendo Switch 2 for several reasons.

First, the game fits perfectly with the portable nature of the console. Airport management is the kind of gameplay that works well in both short sessions and longer play sessions, which makes it very suitable for handheld play.

Second, Nintendo Switch 2 offers both handheld and TV modes. This means players could manage their airport comfortably on the go, but also enjoy a bigger and more immersive view of their airport on a TV.

Third, the touchscreen could be very useful for this type of game. Selecting aircraft, assigning gates, managing terminals, and navigating menus could feel very natural in handheld mode.

Fourth, the stronger hardware of Nintendo Switch 2 could make it a better fit for a detailed simulation/management game like World of Airports, especially compared to older handheld hardware.

Finally, the game could attract many new players who enjoy management, strategy, simulation, transport, and aviation games. A Nintendo Switch 2 version would give World of Airports more visibility and could make it stand out as one of the most unique airport management games available on a console.

I know this would not be simple, but I think it would be a bold, exciting, and deserved step for the future of the game.

Finally, I would also like to thank the development team for creating such a unique game, with so much quality, depth, and attention to detail.

World of Airports is not just another mobile game. It feels more complete, more detailed, and more ambitious than most games in this category. The continuous updates and improvements clearly show the effort, passion, and care that the team puts into the project.

For that reason, I believe a Nintendo Switch 2 version would be an important and well-deserved step, both for the game and for the developers. A game with this level of quality and detail deserves to be experienced on more platforms, not only on mobile devices.

Thank you for all the work you continue to put into World of Airports.

The switch always struggles to have games like WoA, why City Skylines is pretty unsuccessful on it, switch 2 might be different however.

City skylines and WoA are miles apart in graphics requirements. I used to have a PC that struggled to run cities lmao. The bigger problem is that the very limited size of the dev team makes this difficult.

I think it would be better to test the game if really working on PC before moving to other platforms (because I think unity supports PC). Developing games for consoles could be a totally different story and I don’t think devs have such capabilities, sadly.

I completely agree with this suggestion.

World of Airports already feels much deeper and more polished than many mobile management games, and I think a Nintendo Switch 2 version could be a fantastic opportunity for both the developers and the community.

The gameplay seems like a natural fit for a handheld console. Managing flights, assigning stands, and optimizing airport operations works well in both short sessions and longer play sessions. The combination of controller support and touchscreen controls could make the experience very enjoyable on Switch 2.

I also like the idea of account synchronization between platforms. Being able to continue progress across mobile, PC, and console would make the transition much smoother for existing players.

Of course, I understand that a console port would require significant development resources and may not be a priority right now. However, if the game continues to grow, I think it would be worth exploring in the future. A Switch 2 release could introduce World of Airports to a completely new audience of simulation and management game fans.

Thanks for taking the time to write such a detailed and well-thought-out suggestion. I’d definitely be interested in playing World of Airports on Nintendo Switch 2 if it ever becomes a reality.

I’m not sure but actually you can download WoA in a computer with the Play Store

I would rather have the devs work on expanding the mobile game rather than spending time and resources into a console port.

In addition, i dont think it expands the playerbase.

Everybody has a mobile phone but the switch 2 only has 20 million sold copies and the ps5 sold 80 million copies. Total.

Last year:”The total smartphone shipments reached 1.26 billion units for the year 2025.”

Absolutely that works. These game instances on PC, no matter using emulators like BlueStacks or Google Play Games Beta are basically virtual machines, which may result in performance problems.

Running a real PC version meaning the game supports x86 platforms, totally different from ARM platforms. What I mean is that if devs intend to expand to various platforms the development costs on x86 is lower than gaming consoles which may involve using private hardware and software (especially Nintendo, Japanese companies are infamous for such business practices).

On the plus side, those 20 million switches are ENTIRELY designed for playing games, while many (probably a significant majority) of cell phones sold are for business purposes or to people who would never run WoA or any other game on them.

or in the google pixel 10 (XL) wernt built around… even opening an app (google focused on the cameras and stuff more then the actual phone stuff lol)
