PSA: Regarding livery requests

Hey everyone! :waving_hand:

It’s been amazing to see our forums grow so much, and a lot of that energy is going into the Feature requests category. It’s fantastic to see all the great ideas you have!

However, with so many requests, our moderators are having a tough time keeping up, which can sometimes lead to duplicate requests or incorrect info getting posted.

So, on behalf of the moderators and wiki-editors, I have a couple things I would like to ask you all. These are some quick and easy steps that will really help everyone out!

1. Search Before You Post! :light_bulb:

Great minds think alike, and it’s possible someone else has already had the same brilliant idea as you! Please take a moment to use the search bar or check the directories before you create a new topic.

To quickly check if your request has already been made, you can use the search bar to look up the ICAO code for the airline or livery. Otherwise, please check the relevant directories below (or visit General discussion > Feature Directory) before creating a new topic:

I do my best to keep these directories up-to-date outside of my work hours

2. Clarifying Livery Requests :airplane:

This is an important one! To help keep things organized, please only post requests for specific liveries in the Feature requests > Livery category if the airline already exists in the game .

If the airline is not yet in the game, please request the airline itself in the Feature requests > Airline category first. This will help us avoid duplicate requests.

If someone has already requested an airline, but not a special livery you’d like to see, feel free to reply to their topic with your suggestion and get a discussion going! The original poster can always add your suggestion to their post.

3. Verify Your Info! :magnifying_glass_tilted_right:

Before hitting that ‘Create Topic’ button, please take a moment to verify your information!

It’s super helpful if you double-check that the airline name and ICAO code are correct, and that any fleet information you’re providing is accurate. We recommend using trusted sources like FlightRadar24 , Planespotters.net , or Airfleets.net to ensure everything is correct. Wikipedia can also be used as long as it is up to date.

4. Be Responsible with Generative AI :robot:

You’re welcome to use tools like ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude or others to help with writing sections of your post, especially if English isn’t your first language. However, please use them in moderation and DO NOT use them as a source of information. These tools are prone to ‘hallucinations’ or generating incorrect data. Always verify any information you include with trusted sources.

Please avoid having AI write your entire post. We value community engagement and want you to also engage with other users posts and suggestions. Having AI completely write the post takes away the community aspect and you could risk getting suspended from the forums so make sure any suggestions are truly yours.

Thanks for helping us keep the forums organized and awesome! Happy flying! :flight_departure:

Completely agree! And to add on to that, there are other directories of suggested liveries too. Not all of them are up to date but many are. They can all be found in the general > directories section.
