They will only be visible after you purchase the terminals and stands that use the taxiway

I think this is because you haven’t unlocked the terminals yet
No if you look, some of the taxi ways are missing even round the runway esc
In real life we have different materials for the taxiway in LHR, not all parts are concrete/Tar

Using a satellite map such as Google Maps shows that the airport taxiways and apron are made of different materials.
