9th gen iPads have 3 GB memory, right? That is simply not enough for the largest airports (BKK, IAD, LHR, HKG in the future). I have a phone with 8 GB memory and I still play the largest airports on my notebook using an emulator, because they were lagging when there was a lot of traffic. Have you tried changing graphics settings to fast and turning off the 3D landscapes in the settings? Also, check this article for other possible reasons for crashes:
My iPad 10th gen. Crashes after about 20 minutes play time. It doesnāt matter which airport, ING, or NGO. Restart back and Roland the last plane again.
I am encountering this issue aswel the last few days. BKK wonāt even load. It just instantly crashes. HKG used to run properly, but today I can play it for a maximum of 5 minutes before it crashes. If I even get to enter it at all. (all settings like music, radio, etc is turned off. No landscape, fast graphics and all that jazz)
Have a 9th gen iPad, IOS version 26.2 (latest) and 28GB of my 64GB still available. Removed all cache, but it still keeps crashing.
I am aware itās not the newest, newest iPad. But it by no means is old or in bad shape. It would be sad that I canāt run the big airports anymore, solely due to my device limitations. Hopefully thereās something to figure out.
This happened on my old phone (iPhone 10) and I could run INN but my phone got very hot, but my phone would just die if it tried running IAD for 3 minutes (I have now upgraded) but I can see why you would be frustrated, does this mean you canāt play WoA?
in general the big ones like HKG and BKK are giving a lot of difficulties. Sometimes they run for 15-20 minutes, but most of the time it just instantly crashes or right after I turned on the tower manager.
I donāt have a lot of time anymore, but itās very frustrating to continuously need to restart the app for it to immediately crash, so I honestly donāt really bother anymore after the 2nd time. I can still play most the other airports, so sometimes I do that. I would just like to develop HKG tbh, which currently is not really feasible. Oh well
Itās not the amount of space thatās left, itās your RAM size which is in charge of short term memory. Itās happening to me too so I will have to get an upgrade soon.
I know. Just listed that too, since that was one of the things the devs themselves listed as potential issues. It would be a shame to have to get another iPad yet again, while mine still works perfectly, beside the big airports
