The next airport remodel

This isn’t meant to be seen as impatience, I’m merely curious to know which of the fabulous airports we currently have in-game is next to be remodelled. Just cause I’m hoping for IAD .

Thanks in advance and sorry to be a pester.

That’s a good question. I think you have to make a difference between a full remodel (like the last one in December 2024 in IAD) and the update of the gates to shared gates (like in SYD, GRU, SCL, and MSY).

A complete overhaul would be expected next at one of the following: NGO, SAN, MCT

I believe the release of the shared gates will take place independently of this. Whether this will be released piece by piece or all at once is uncertain.

Sort of a mix of both tbf. I was just curious as to which airport we’ll be seeing in the future snazzed up. I agree, shared gates might come independently as some airports don’t require a complete overhaul.

I chose San Diego for my next remodel😀

San Diego is more likely to need a complete overhaul, as the airport is now completely different and has a new terminal, which isn’t the case in Washington. At the other airports, at least the jet bridges would need to be renovated and rebuilt. Parking spaces can always be gradually changed over time.

MCT and NGO need remodal too

I’m personally guessing they will go in order - so NGO

NGO needs it the most (apart from SAN)

Honestly I’ve never understood the SAN hate, I feel like it has one of the nicest sceneries of any airport in the game

It’s an annoying airport for getting stuff down and back out, but visually is one of the best looking airport in the game. It has so much potential for aircraft photos.

Edit: Discounting the new terminal complex but just thought, the banana bays are also missing from SAN.

That’s true, but a remodel won’t fix operational efficiency

Agreed, I’d love a good East Asian airport like NGO but it just looks so flat and drab and the traffic flow is poor too. I unlocked it, got it to level 10 and got bored with it. I think you’re right, NGO will be the next for an overhaul and then I reckon PRG. Unless they surprise us with an IAD rebuild for a big United update slop dump but I reckon I’m dreaming on that last one

Who’s saying anything about hate???

The main issue for SAN is that we are only using half of the runway for takeoff, and that makes the possible queuing line very short. Most C or larger planes in SAN takeoff in the further east, which gives much more space for the queuing line that is needed for a single runway airport in WOA (not real life though). Despite the remodification of Terminal 1 and the location shift for the cargo station, SAN is the airport that operates far away from real life, and this difference can cause even more issues in the game than in reality.

It would if they doubled the speed limits :cowboy_hat_face:

Ha I wasn’t hating on it I love SAN it’s my favourite airport to play. That’s probably why I criticise it so much I’d like to see it look as good as it can get

The vehicles in the parking lots could be better detailed at some airports. It looks strange to take a photo at SAN when you have the vehicle parking lot in the background.

As for remodels I think san will go first because of the new t1 but for stand updates it might be IAD because the entire airport is based around shared stands and I personally think it needs one the most

Remember that Washington Dallas (IAD) has already been retouched so it won’t be that airport, only the developers , Syd was also retouched.

It was remodeled but the layout stayed the same except for a few more B gates. No shared stands though.
