Hello I have heard that LHR will expand soon to have 3 runways, if it is done will WOA update LHR?
Most likely but I guess that a conversation that needs to be had when it ACTUALLY happens.

That’s by no means certain last I heard, in 2022ish, and even if it goes through it will be a long time before it is open. The odds are just about nonexistent

I think they will do this but LHR expansion is a very far away stuff I would say.
Maybe they can complete the project by 2035?
I assume no during the construction phase as it need to remodel the airport, they don’t even want to remodel SAN as the new terminal is in use soon and the parallel taxiway will in use as well.
More like 2040. BA doesn’t want to pay the increased fees for the infrastructure, the residents in the locality are going to fight tooth and nail to avoid their homes being bulldozed, the M25 I think has to be adjusted and let’s not forget there is bound to be an environmental issue or ten……
Look I would love to see LHR expand, although the 3rd runway is starting to make me think of the Polderbaan (sp.) at AMS.
It’s going to take way more than 10 years. Stansted, Gatwick and Southend have a better chance of expanding in that time frame than LHR does
