WYR Airlines spreads its wings to LHR!

Greetings to fellow World of Airports pilots, operators, and CEOs,

It is my pleasure to introduce WYR Airlines (pronounced “Wire” - for West Yorkshire Airlines) and to announce that our operations at London Heathrow (LHR) are now open for cooperative partnerships within the World of Airports community.

WYR Airlines was established with a clear and focused mission: Connecting the Countryside. While much of the aviation world concentrates on large metropolitan hubs, our airline places particular importance on linking regional communities and quieter destinations with the broader global network. In doing so, we aim not only to connect the countryside itself, but also to ensure that these regions remain connected to the wider world through well-established international gateways.

After a period of careful preparation and steady development, London Heathrow (LHR) now serves as the primary operational hub for WYR Airlines. From this base, we aim to build a network that balances regional accessibility with international connectivity.

Partnership Opportunities

WYR Airlines welcomes cooperation with fellow operators across the World of Airports network. Aircraft of all sizes are welcome, and we are always pleased to see thoughtfully designed fleets and distinctive liveries arriving at our gates.

Our facilities at Heathrow are able to accommodate a wide range of operations, including:

  • Regional Passenger Aircraft (Class A/B)

  • Medium Passenger Aircraft (Class C/D)

  • Heavy Passenger Aircraft (Class E/F)

  • Cargo Aircraft of all classes

While Heathrow naturally lends itself to widebody operations, regional and medium aircraft are equally appreciated.

WYR Airlines Fleet Operations

Our fleet continues to grow in a deliberate and considered manner. Aircraft are often acquired with specific routes or partnerships in mind. Should a requested aircraft type not be immediately available, the request will be recorded and prioritized as our fleet expands.

In many cases, new aircraft will be purchased specifically to support mutually beneficial routes.

Establishing Connections

If you would like to establish a connection with WYR Airlines at London Heathrow, you are warmly invited to do so.

Please feel free to:

  • Share your WoA Username and hub airport(s) in the replies below

  • Alternatively, you may contact me directly via private message on the forum

I look forward to welcoming your aircraft to Heathrow and to building a cooperative network that keeps both the countryside and the wider world well connected.

With best regards,
