ZRH - Conversation

Yeah, it’s a weird one. Should probably be labelled that its main use is at single runway airports. Still, Zurich’s takeoffs on RWY 14 would be massively quickened if the top 2 points were put in place. I love the airport, it’s definitely in my top 3 with BRI and SCL but it needs a fair bit of tweaking to get it running smoothly. Plus more landing patterns wouldn’t go amiss.

For those of you who play with mostly realistic / quasi-realistic / plausible / historic contracts what are you guys using for your cargo contracts into ZRH?

Here’s what I got so far:

  • Sprint Air SF34 from Warsaw (charter)
  • DHL B738F from LEJ
  • FedEx B738F from CDG (FedEx Europe’s main hub)
  • UPS B763 from CGN (their largest European hub)
  • ASL B463F from CDG
  • TNT B463F from LGG
  • WDL B463F (must have all Jumbolinos!)
  • Air China B744BCF from Chengdu (based on this, though it is unclear to me if this route is actually getting flown so I’m leaning towards removing it if I can find some other plausible flights).
  • FlyPro B742F (based on this, and gone with the B742 since we don’t have their A300s in game, and departs AUH instead of Tel Aviv due to game availability.
  • Turkish Air Cargo A332F (fairly routine visitor according to FR24)
  • ULS A333P2F (based on an FR24 route from last week)
  • (Plus the Antonov 225 from GML in the pass!)

Would love a bit more variety so if anyone has any recommendations as well as a flight log or image to show its at least plausible, I’d love to see it!

I think they could do a small runway management tab in ATC and you set how you would like ATC to behave in multiple runways…

One thing I’ll add but I’ll do some more research tomorrow, I’ve seen images of Korean Air 777F’s at the airport a couple of times so that could be a good one.

I opened ZRH by finishing HKG. ZRH seems so slow. What can I do to speeden things up??

don’t have many, only the Turkish/ULS A332F/A333P2F and the reward An-22, though i do have an Iran Air B742F kind of as a “technicality” of sorts (as the B742M which operated there in reality isn’t available)
as for where i got the source for it, here

I have them in a note file somewhere… I’ll try to find them because I need to put them in my irl contracts spreadsheets.

@Hirohitoswaifu the Korean Air Cargo is a good call. Thanks!

@traincrashed I opted for the Iran Air 747SP instead of the 742. I think it’s the only (or at least one of a handful) of 747SP contracts that aren’t events and really wanted at least one at my airport!

Why we don’t have the eastern approach in game?

I think devs were just glad that the two options worked out so well. They didn’t want to risk any further delays by adding a third option. But that’s just a guess.

Ok… No problem, it was only a question

I am still very satisfied with the game. I mainly play Zurich and Innsbruck, as these airports are simply highly detailed. I’m also looking forward to Prague now.

oh that’s interesting, did they operate services there with the SP before? i only saw media of the 747-200Ms i mentioned alongside the A300B4-600 (A306)

Nothing really on your end generally.

I generally do this to speed up things
For runway use 14-16-28
For tower connections

Landings to level 3
Take offs to level 1
Ground to level 1
I play realistically so i do the Schegen flights to the domestic terminals and the non go to open stands and the satelight E terminal. So i dont use delivery.

It is slow when landings arrive on 14 but it works for me.

For landings on runway 34 and taking off on 32.

Tower connections
Landing level 1
Take off level 1

I must say that take offs on 32 do que up a lot when it comes a lot of planes departing.

Yesterday I was flying thrrough zurich and while rushing to my gate (bc passport control sucks at zurich) I saw an edelweiss A343 and A359 at gates B41 and B39. And I thought that those were Schengen zone gates, but I didnt think edelweiss had any widebodies going from zurich and staying the Schengen zone and i’m wondering if anyone has an explanation to that.

I know Edelweiss does A343 flights to Palma on the regular but not sure about the A359.
