#29 Next in Line – Aircraft, Features, and a Few Surprises

Perhaps you can select different stands for 1 contract (in this case the stands at a certain terminal). So if this is the case, it’ll randomly select certain a stand out of those stands

I dont check the forum for a couple of hours and this is what happens!

4 new/refurbished aircraft along with the new schellduling system and generic airports make this the largest update since 2.0, I’d argue this could even be 4.0 with the amount of content. As someone who plays the game In a strange way the scheduling system and stand blocking will help me organise it a lot

Can’t wait for this update, we only have 17 days left in Q3 so the wait is on.

This game is the one that keeps on giving.

This is absolutely fantastic! Not only do we have an additional airport to enjoy, but there are also so many exciting new features to explore. I genuinely can’t wait to dive in and experience everything that will be added. Huge appreciation and gratitude to the developers for all the effort, creativity, and hard work that went into making the game even more engaging and enjoyable—it truly shows!

Yes all of them are ready or almost ready but will be ready for the update. ERJ , B757 family and Comet are done, DC11 is in stage of creating liveries.

Oh wow, this really is a big update aircraft wise. Granted it won’t compare with the 737

Good work!!!

Once multiple are released, will the most popular generic airports be remade as realistic airports? Im sure i remeber reading this somewhere, but I’m not 100% sure. Either way, I glad that generic airports will allow more smaller airports to be added to the game!

Thank you for giving us so much information on the coming features! I’m really looking forward to them!

I was wondering if there could be a bit of clarification on the generic airport plan, it looks really interesting but I have a few questions. Will all the generic airports look the same, or are they made up of specific assets that can be adjusted to make new “shapes”? In essence, could the current generic airport assets be shaped into a new airport, thus just reusing assets but making a “unique” new airport? Could they be made up of “prefab” pieces that can be put together and organized into a unique looking airport that shares a layout with it’s inspiration? Or will all the smaller generic airports just have the same layout? I’m curious as to how you guys will approach this, so I’m excited for it!

As for the scheduling, that is looking cool as well! I’m hoping that the scheduling will be able to have many other things built off of it, such as changing use for runways allowing specific landing/takeoff runways but being able to switch; useful for airports with more than one runway, as you could in theory just allow runways to only accept landing aircraft and all departing aircraft have to go to a different runway. IRL this would be landing a bunch of planes in the morning and then taking off a bunch of planes later in the day, as all the takeoff/landing times are scheduled.

Really excited to see how things turn out!

it’s about two different approaches. airports that make sense to make realistically for various reasons regardless of their size. and then airports that would help expand global coverage but would never make it into the game as standalones due to the game’s size limitations and team capacity options

Thanks so much for your thoughtful questions and excitement, it really means a lot!

Regarding the generic airport: the main idea is to maintain one consistent layout so we can optimize performance and keep things manageable. While we do plan to include minor visual adjustments to buildings and the surrounding environment, the overall layout will stay the same across all generic airports (same size).

Of course, having a fully modular or dynamic airport system would be amazing, but for now we can only adjust things like runway numbers, runway/wind directions, METAR conditions, and airport names/positions. Once these airports are in the game and used by the community, we’ll learn more about what really matters and where we can improve.

The same goes for the scheduling feature. It will launch in a basic form, and we’ll gradually build on top of it based on player feedback and real gameplay needs.

We’re excited to see how this all evolves, and your input really helps us shape the direction. Thank you!

Hello Kubasan, at first thanks for the work from you an your team and for all the information! Exciting and great! I have some question to generic airports:

What will be cheaper in purchase? To unlock the airport or the premium pass or other things like stands an attributes/equipment?

Later if it is possible to transfer the generic airport to a place on the map we can choose, what costs we have to expect?

many greetings and happy flying

Should we expect a price increase in Comet’s current 100GP?

Thank you for the clarification! The one consistent layout makes sense, but it would be cool to see some uniqueness besides just the buildings, even if its just something minor like the layout of taxiways or slight particulars of a ramp. Maybe a modular or dynamic airport tileset or similar system could be looked into once the generic airports are up and running, that could allow for more individuality for the airports besides just the names and the airlines! Regardless I am looking forward to it, I think more airports is a good thing, and will be trying it myself when it releases! Keep up the good work!

@kubasan

I know you get probably pinged alot every day and im sorry in advance
First of all thank you for the development update that was a treat.

Now i have a question thats been on my mind for quite some time, looking at the 757 picture in the post it appears we only get the PW2000 version as a fleet plane ?
Are there any plans in the future that let us players actually swap engine types like on the ceo Airbus family from the CFM56 to the IAE’s, 767-300 from the GE’s to RB-211 and the same for the 757 family ? Also the ability to retrofit fleet planes with Sharklets or Winglets is something that i am wondering about if that every is in the plans

Many thanks in advance !
