Just out of curiosity, does anyone have any idea what the next plane will be? A new model or rework?
MD11 was mentioned. But I am not sure which aircraft will be next exactly.
Maybe the ERJ’s?
No one knows what the NEXT one will be but the devs, but check out this page:
Honestly?
We’ll add whichever aircraft we can get into the system. Right now, we already have the B757-200/300, ERJs, C-17, C-130, and Comet redesigned and waiting for implementation.
We’re currently working on a new workflow that should allow us to add planes to the game a bit faster, but it still needs time to stabilize and settle.
Cant wait to see a preview of the 757
You guys are awesome!
And glad to hear the C130 getting updated sooner rather than later
Massively hyped for the idea of the flying pencil. Looking forward to my IAD being full of United -300s and 767-400s . Fingers crossed we get both liveries for it. You guys are fantastic thanks for all your hard work
Looking forward to seeing Xiamen Airlines’ 752
Yeah unless it’s gonna be a patch that they doing that puts them the correct sizes.
Whist that’s correct, but if something wasn’t ready yet then why release it just do the two Fokkers.
Oh man, cannot wait for the sports car of the sky to be remodeled (Boeing 757)! I have it unlocked, so I will have to dump some money on it once it gets remodeled.
What about B737s?
Imagine the worst possible task at your job — no matter what you do for a living. The hardest, slowest, most frustrating, and least satisfying kind of work.
That’s what the B737 is for us.
There are just so many versions and permutations: different winglets, engine types, scimitars, fuselage lengths… and I’m not even talking yet about the 350+ hand-painted liveries — each of which has to be painted individually, one by one.
It’s not that we’re not doing it. We are.
But it will take time.
I did the math somewhere already:
Let’s say we need half a day for a very simple livery (assuming we already have PNG resources). That’s 175 working days just to finish the liveries.
That means one person would have to do nothing else but paint liveries for 5 months straight .
That same person also creates aircraft models — so effectively, aircraft development pauses for at least 6 months.
And when it’s finally done?
The first question will be:
“Where’s the A33X family? What a disappointment.”
Your production team only needs to set the format, and players can submit according to the requirements.
Bro what? AI is not a magic wand guaranteed to work on all use cases and situations including whatever custom development workflow flyboys uses.
Unfortunately, it doesn’t work that way — but your suggestion helps clarify how players think aircraft models are created. There is something called UV map, Base Livery, Backing process just name a few.
. Sad part is that this isnt even an exaggeration. Especially on instagram. My advice to you guys is to maybe do it in phases; first the MAX, then the NG’s, then the classics, then maybe the originals. And maybe to add to that satisfaction level it should be the last family you remodel so that you at least know that once your done your finally finished with remodeling.
The amount of work you guys put in is not forgotten, at least for me. For a free game, it is brilliant and each update with a new feature is a bonus. I can see how all the different variants for the 737 would take a long time, the one man army doing that deserves all the praise. Thank you to you and the rest of the team.
Edit: also wanted to add, I tried to do some liveries for transport fever and the amount of effort and time I just couldn’t keep up with the other commitments. Went from starting as a hobby to being a chore with all the UV mapping and the livery colouring with layers, plus adding the weathering overlays. Anyone who can do that is a wizard.
I know the feeling, I paint planes for FS, If you guys need, help, I’m glad to lend a helping hand
the vast majority are hugely grateful at the incredible work you guys do. Ignore the impatient ones who want the next airport as soon as you release one!
