Something I find really interesting about India is the concept of Jugaad—working with limited resources and making the most of what you have. This mindset even extended to aviation.
Back in the 1980s and 1990s, many runway surfaces in India were not built to standard wheel-load capacities. However, due to India’s massive population, airlines needed to deploy large aircraft like the Airbus A320 to domestic hubs. The problem was that the standard, single-axle main landing gear of the A320 was too heavy for the fragile tarmac, causing the runways to crack and break.
To solve this, Air India asked Airbus for a custom solution. Airbus designed a unique, four-wheel twin-bogey main landing gear specifically for India. This modification distributed the aircraft’s weight across more tires, lowering the pressure on the runway.
Today, because most major Indian airports have upgraded, up-to-code runways, these specialized “double-gear” A320s are no longer needed and are becoming incredibly rare.
(I used gemini to help me to make what im saying easier to understand but i did use google doc to get my ideas out so… half AI?)
Always been fascinated by these cool gear modifications, also like the gravel kits on the older 737s. Jugaad is a really good thing to stand by, be thankful for what you have and try to make the most of it, as there’s always someone out there who has it worse off. Obviously if you feel awful make sure to tell someone though!
GERMAN APPROVED! Which route it’ll fly?
Dusseldorf-Zurich maybe …?
Ye why not?
so cute! and squishy lol, glad to see you back haha
I don’t know if Minecraft planes count to drawings or where else I could put them (sorry mods)

I am not making fun of this, but that is one squished A318? A319 it looks super cool from this angle!! keep up the good work on these drawings.
Not trying to be rude just politely correcting, it’s an A330 (I’d say 200?)
