BKK - post release discussion

It seemed to me that yes, they crossed the runway on their own. They stopped in front of the runway during acceleration 19R. And then they crossed it.

But I could be wrong.

Yea but I also have the problem when they land on 19R. If there is a plane waiting to cross, it will cross on itā€™s own when the plane on 19R has deviated the runway. If you want to land a plane directly again on 19R you canā€™t because the waiting plane will automatically cross the rwy.

Really enjoying playing BKK! Delighted that it was launched so quickly post SYD. Especially loving that all three runways are in action.

Just wish I could jump to International Flights and get the whole airport open and operating

Couple of items that I would love to see (and same would apply to all other airports which handle XL and L aircraft.)

  1. It would be amazing if we could see all three jet bridges used for A380 boarding. I think I have read somewhere that this may come in the futureā€¦ (unless thatā€™s just be being wishful  )
  2. More the case for SYD and LHR, would be good to see door 2 used for boarding on L aircraft when they are at a L stand where there is only 1 jet bridge, which usually would happen at LHR.

What a joy BKK is. A revolutionary airport for WOA if I must say so myself. 3 landing runways make the airport almost feel full enough as it should be in real life, which I donā€™t feel has been successfully accomplished with IAD, LHR & SYD unless you hold planes with only one landing runway (especially considering they use both runways for landing at SYD in real life, but not the game). This should be somewhat of a blueprint for larger airports in the future, including IAD remodel, 3 landing runways there would do wonders for the airport that has so much potential.

They mentioned maybe split gates with 2 S/M or 1 L/X as well with the IAD refresh, and I think we may see the third jet bridge as a split gate in the future for S/M planes for BKK at the 8 center gates in the satellite terminal, as those exist in real life. I also wonder if theyā€™ll complete the taxiway behind 19R so planes landing on 20 donā€™t need to cross 19R. Iā€™ve noticed a ton of airports are doing that now (such as ATL, DFW among others) and would work great for WOA, except maybe for the extra minute it will add to taxi.

Also, bravo for the lack of major bugs on release (I know theres a couple out there, but I havenā€™t encountered any myself yet) I know only a week or two ago one of the mods said it wasnā€™t even in beta yet, so I was not expecting a release so quick, I think theyā€™re finally mastering the taxi coding.

Hopefully they can put some Thai Airways L plane contracts on some of the local routes (maybe even if the L planes get a regional label) so its more realistic, like the A359/B77W to SIN or HGK as they operate those in real life. Other than that, amazing work, keep it up!

I think also a huge part of making it feel full is that the ATC now randomly assigns stands as opposed to only in a specific part

IAD has already been confirmed to having 4 operational runways, so

I donā€™t use that feature, but I definitely see that helping as well. I hand select the gates I want each plane at, as normally they arenā€™t randomly assigned in real life. Although from what Iā€™ve seen, BKK might be an outlier as I canā€™t really find gate assignments like I can other airports. It seems like some may have specific areas/terminals they arrive and depart at, but nothing too concrete. Maybe Iā€™ll try it out once I unlock more of it.

Iā€™m aware, but I wasnā€™t expecting BKK to have 3 landing runways, so I wasnā€™t expecting IAD to have 3 landing runways since weā€™ve never seen that before. Iā€™m just saying that I didnā€™t expect that, but now that we have it, it should be the blueprint for future airports that have more than 2 runways

I just tried to turn on the automatic parking assignment. They were chosen in a chaotic manner, not in order. throughout the airport and terminals

They used to go in order and folks didnā€™t like that either, so itā€™s random pick your own

Amazing! Thanks for putting the time in to making this

Wait thatā€™s actually pretty cool!

Nothing wrong with BA plus had Loganair, though if you got the premium you have your own aircraft as well and level 30 was buying contracts with the Wollars/SP you make.

Correct they fly or did at LCY. I must been only one buying contracts, I was flying though if you pardon the pun on levelling up, oh and getting the random contract.

Can you get player contracts from like San Diego and Saint Maarten and Washington?

In NGO there is also Korean air regional

Thatā€™s one of the few things that I feel the devs gotta find a way to just implement.
Leaving out certain contracts like L/X that are close range, like NGO, LEJ, SYD all have those and now BKK, and for those of us who love playing close to real, itā€™s probably a big pet peeve. Make them available after regional or international but donā€™t just leave them out. Would also def help to level up a bit quicker seeing as itā€™s hard enough sometimes

Some should be special events, as when Air France got their A380 they were using them on CDG-LHR-CDG first. But then airlines like Finnair and Iberia send their A350 to LHR. And if you look at some Asian carriers they do send bigger aircraft on local routes. ANA use to have a special B747-400 just for that.

Nothing wrong with BA except for the fact it is the only local airline for LHR, so your free random planes you get when playing just create nothing but monotony. I will agree to disagree with you on this, LHRā€™s lack of local diversity made it a boring airport to grind, especially early on. Iā€™ll probably never touch it again because I still am bored of it despite not playing it for 8 months.

But overall, I think you missed my point. Look at the diversity of local contracts that BKK has. And these liveries look great. Far less monotonous and far more fun of an early game experience to grind!
