Wrong side. 
A surprise for us all! I heard a lot of people were discussing CPT and SCL.
I understand there are some arguments in relation to the selection of this airport, but I’d make it simple. BKK is the most sensible decision at this stage:

Players are always talking about the situation in LHR that they were unable to fill stands. I would say a three runway BKK would help to this situation (if that truly happens). Although get to a very large one may not be welcomed some players, I would say it to be a compensation to SXM. I was once excited about SXM but grinding after LHR release made me away from this airport for months!

There are less area on this planet that is uncovered. I would say I’d like two airports in both Africa and Latin America, and other gaps on the world map is one in SEA(Southeast Asia) and another one in Northeast Asia (could be ICN or somewhere in China)

DEL is on indefinite hold, unfortunately, so I understand devs are looking for a large airport nearby to replace this project (I mentioned JED on this forum but I know it is so close to MCT so somewhere in Asia is more preferred)

There are actually limited choices in SEA(Southeast Asia) when it comes to large airports. I would say BKK, KUL, and SIN are the only potential candidates. SIN is currently under a massive expansion and you know devs prefer an airport that does not foresee a significant expansion in near future (sadly I feel SIN is better considering its location). And putting BKK and KUL into comparison, BKK has smaller footprint due to its planning so I would say this could be a predominant factor.
Whatever, I am generally happy with BKK and let’s see if something great is going to happen.

There is a taxiway at the south end of runway under construction. Since this taxiway is very far away from the runway, there should be no need for planes to wait on the hold position. I assume devs will use the existing runway for landing and the new one for take off.

This has been one of my suspicions for why they chose BKK from the beginning. 3 runways has been tossed around, but not fully discussed. A lot of airports, like IAD, use runway crossings, which to add would require more taxi logic. I always though they could just do it like another hold point, like at PRG if a cargo and a pax plane are waiting for takeoff, and you clear the cargo plane, the pax plane’s button is now desaturated and cannot be pressed, and the same thing happens to any planes waiting for landing clearance, I still believe it could just work like that, but it’s still simpler what BKK has.

Definitely not gonna have all 112 airlines in the game, also Wikipedia a good one to see airlines and destinations if you want to keep it real.

BKK will be the same problem as LHR, empty gates because the airport is too big. Unless they will do double runway landing. Ho Chi Minh City airport would have been perfect for that region.

They could have had longer handling time but the Devs refused to do so, if I had to choose an airport I would pick Phuket to be honest.

Phuket is nice indeed for a small airport! Been there twice in real life and a great spot for planespotting as well!

I haven’t been to Phuket to be honest but if I was going to an airport with a beach useing whatever camera gear I have I would most likely go to Lanzarote

Corfu has a great airport for spotting too! Went there a few years back and the views were great! Also Swiss001 has a good video on it too.

Honestly I don’t think it will be a problem(or at least compared to lhr) because lhr has only two runways, and very long taxi times. However this airport has three runways so it is highly likely we will get double arrivals, and it has shorter taxi times with a much simpler layout. Would I have rather a smaller airport? Yes, but I am still quite fine with bkk.

Being honest, I personally would have preferred HKT over BKK. More leisure airlines, a very nice location being right on the beach, and most importantly it’s suitable for M planes from NGO, MCT and SYD. However I’m not sure if M planes can reach BKK from MCT?

SalamAir and Oman Air fly to HKT with M planes and I believe it’s almost the same distance from MCT to BKK.
