If I split it up into sections you might get a better idea why I feel that way lol. Flyer’s right, one reason is the 757 just didn’t turn up. For adding more D stands, you’d have though more D aircraft would come but it didn’t which is very disappointing. So that starts it off low.
The airport itself is spectacular, the model is beautiful with the runway and grass looking superb, the roads and equipment models plus the parking garage and car parks, the buildings around including the sports field are all brilliant, absolutely no complaints. I think the little plane warning sign which was flagged as a bug this morning is actually a gimmick as it’s easily noticeable that it’s a person on the google earth and I love it for it. Trees are also phenomenal on the airport too. D stand location is a tad disappointing but would’ve taken no score away if everything else was good as I understand the reasoning, it’s more down to D Class just not suiting the irl airport and needing splitting. Airport is a 10/10 imo. Edit: just adding in as well, it doesn’t appear the equipment changed which again is disappointing as for example, INN has ambulifts painted the same as the food trucks yet they’re still white. Other unique equipment too would’ve been very welcome, a lot of which I posted in photos on the INN conversation linked below but further up, which I am adding here.
Surroundings. Absolutely nothing bar the tram and the cows seems to have changed, road layout appears to be the same, the river looks like a canal and the landscape still looks like Google earth in 2008 when I used to play flight sim on it in primary school. And yet people are reporting lag which I can’t understand because if INN is lagging, god help any of the other airport remodels like IAD or even NGO if we see it with the new runway. I didn’t expect Microsoft Flight Sim levels of detail as it’s not feasible and I’m one of the big opponents of some of the super hubs like LAX, Dubai, CDG and SIN which would be impossible to work at the level of detail of HKG, but it’s daft that there’s lag and daft to think that might be the reason for no detailing around the airport. The really obvious floating chunks on arrival are still there. I’d have thought that would have been a priority deletion. Also as you mentioned, 2 new spotting points is great but a couple more would’ve been brilliant, the opposite side of the runway spot as per below from street view and the river spot which would’ve made for some fantastic photo opportunities - as I did here lol.
The shadows I don’t count as part of INN as it’s a global thing but may be contributing to the lag, but then HKG still functions fine for me as does IAD. Shadows though are excellent and I have no problems except the lighting can at times on certain whiter liveries, be flashbanging.
The A330s whilst decent models with a good batch of liveries, BMI instantly gives it 10% more as does Air Italy with another 5%, it’s disappointing the one issue repeatedly raised that being whether one A330 would be deleted, was clearly ignored or forgotten about and is now having to be a fix. The A330 liveries had a couple of odd choices too which could have been something much more desired like Air Berlin’s A330s, one of the top voted airlines and whose A330s formed the backbone of their long haul fleet, Cathay Pacific’s old livery, Cathay Dragon and Dragonair, both of which again had the A330 as their main long haul aircraft and whom have the homebase of the newest airport in-game, US Airways the same as Air Berlin, even Northwest Airlines. And to add to that, the aircraft themselves still have no range, I can get a TCX A332 from LGW to SCL no problem but can barely send one of my own A332’s to Europe no matter the loadout.
It just felt like the devs are rushing to get a couple of items out at a time to appeal to different groups because if you just look at the likes of Insta’s comments, it’s full of people demanding the new next thing and the A330NEO demand was unbelievable. I think if it were 2 updates, A330 remodel with some extra liveries and bit of extra time put into it to prevent the bugger up of the player owned ones, and then the INN remodel with some more time put into the airport and maybe the DO328 or ATR remodel included with some INN liveries for the 752 and other aircraft, maybe like Lauda’s B763 or some EZY specials or the old livery. But it just felt rushed and I don’t want to speak ill of the devs but I think they might be pushing too hard to appease as many people as possible. So INN itself is mediocre, graphics update is superb and A330s hits good and that’s about as far as I’ll put it, might be being generous as my LHR is now filled with 15 BMI A332s looool.
