Observer Camera During Ground Handling
Several players have suggested enabling the Observer Camera during aircraft handling to get a closer look at all the ground service operations.
Until now, this wasn’t possible.
The Observer Camera follows a fixed circular path around the aircraft. While this works well during taxi, takeoff, and landing, aircraft parked at the terminal are much closer to buildings and other airport objects. As a result, the camera could clip through those structures, exposing areas that were never intended to be visible.
To solve this, Honza B. took the time to add collision boxes around the airport buildings, preventing the camera from passing through them.
Thanks to this improvement, we’re now able to enable the Observer Camera during the handling process, allowing you to watch refuelling, catering, baggage loading, pushback preparation, and other ground services from a much closer perspective.
Is this a major gameplay feature? Probably not.
But if we’re investing so much effort into making our aircraft, liveries, animations, and ground handling as realistic as possible, we think it’s worth letting you enjoy all those details up close.
Sometimes it’s the little details that make the experience feel just a bit more alive.
