General Pre-Release Discussion

My guess is something around Christmas. As for region it would be probably North America or Africa. But that’s only a personal guess.

Yes, I’m thinking PRG remodel around the WoA anniversary in September and then a new airport by the end of the year (or early next year). I don’t think we’ll be getting an African airport just yet, for the reasons Charlie previously outlined, but North America I think is quite likely. Personally I’m hoping for Canada or Mexico - if there should be another US airport, I’d like to see MSP or ANC, but in general I think three is enough for now. I also wouldn’t mind seeing MIA, but preferably once we have aircraft such as DC-8, DC-10, MD-80 and B727, which were still common there in the early 2010’s.

I would like to stress that these are just my personal thoughts and opinions and have nothing to do with actual game development.

there does tend to be a Dev blog every few months and last one was May so maybe soon we might get one

Correct me if I’m wrong, but I’m pretty I heard that the prg update is planned to be a summer update and will release around the same period that the SYD remodel did(oh and btw, the woa anniversary is in October, not September).

As for the next airport, I also think it will come in Q4 along with the 737 family, along with an airport in the southern pacific region(likely Indonesia) in order to satisfy that community. But if I am being overly optimistic, I think we could actually get a Canadian airport instead, because when Charlie teased it, the idea did seem to get a lot of support from the community, and also it fits the theme of the 737. You can find most generations of 737 at multiple airports. So I think that YVR is the most likely, with YYZ as a close second, but again, this is just my optimism. And the option for an African airport is always in the air but no clue if it’s financially sustainable yet.

For the next remodel, which I think could also be late this year or early next year, I think it will be either iad or san(fits the theme of the 737, and SAN is in desperate need because of the new T1, IAD will soon be in need too with the new terminal and the fact that it STILL doesn’t have shared stands after all this time), or it could be NGO, as it has probably the most outdated model in game. LHR is a sneaky pick, as it really needs some love, but I think they will save that for a potential a380 remodel.

That would be cool, I must’ve missed or forgotten that. My reasoning was just that it would be fitting to have the Czech airport’s remodel release with the Czech game’s anniversary.

Exactly why I think Canadian airport is a possibility. Indonesia seems like a real possibility too, because if I recall correctly it was already mentioned as being in the running prior to HKG announcement (something along the lines of “it’ll be in the region of Indonesia or China” was said by I think Charlie), plus it also seems to have quite a few B733, B735 and even B732 current or recent operators.

Do we still have any v2.0 planes that have corner engines? I know 737s and cargo series are on the plan, but I forgot if there is any ancient model left. If the cargo series can come with a new cargo hub, such as Anchorage or Memphis, that will be great.

For 737s and Canadian airports, will Yellowknife still be a choice? I think there are a lot of people calling for a small-sized airport, and both YYZ and YVR are quite large.

I am actually more looking forward to new functions rather than only new models and airports, since that will make the game even more enjoyable. Will we see the new ground system by the end of this year?

I may be wrong here but the C17 and C130 are the only V1.0 planes left
and the ATR, A380 and 737 are a few of the V2.0 planes

The A300 is also V1.0, isn’t it?

We’ve decided to shift towards more frequent, smaller updates instead of fewer large ones.

This approach will allow us to deliver new content in a more structured way, reduce stress on the team, and eliminate some of the bottlenecks in our development and distribution workflow.

For example, the B737 family will most likely be released in batches, similar to how we handled the B747 family. This allows us to release aircraft as they are ready instead of waiting for the entire family to be completed.

At the same time, we’ve started the next major phase in implementing customizable liveries and logos.

Honza and Marek are currently focused on converting all remaining aircraft to the new parametric livery system, which is one of the key building blocks required for aircraft customization. In parallel, development of the new livery customization interface is moving full speed ahead.

This new release strategy gives us the flexibility to deliver aircraft, liveries, and new features as they become ready, rather than bundling everything into a single massive update.

And if I’m not completely mistaken, I believe Kubasan is already working on the next DevBlog. :slightly_smiling_face::airplane:

So my suggestion that we will have first remodel Boeing 737-800 and 737MAX8

I’m glad to see smaller updates returning vice less frequent larger ones, especially when it comes to the 737s. I will admit I’m very much looking forward to getting my hands on some 737 classics, especially the 300.

Thanks for the clarification @Charlie.
I also hope this means more missing liveries being implemented as well more frequently

Would be cool to see the batches released be by generations, i.e. NG models first, then MAX and finally the classics

:grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes: I’m sure many players would have preferred them to be released in the opposite order.

Haha, yes we would. Desperate to get my hands on some -500/-600s. Thanks for the update Charlie

Honestly, I absolutely love this idea! If im not mistaken updates used to be like this a while ago(like pre 2.0 I think) so I’m glad you guys are bringing this concept back. While it can be fun opening release notes and seeing a list that is seemingly never ending, I think this method helps keep the community more engaged year round. Also, I think it makes room for more of those little details and small features which makes this game so great to be added. Really looking forward to what the future brings with this new approach!

Well the -600 counts as the NG tho

I guess so but it makes more sense to release the bigger generation

Thanks for the update Charlie. Epic as always and makes more sense. More frequent is best in my eyes

I think that remodels will come first, and then as you said. But you may be right.

737 update and older models are on my top list of everything since I’ve been playing the game. Playing the -500 or -600 or staring at some old JT8D could be just amazing to me. The batches release in even better because we don’t have to wait for this massive work that is 737 for too long possibly. I also think that MAX8 and -800 could have a priority due to their presence in real life fleets. The customizable liveries and logos are something of a game changer visually and could make people take notes from other players and land great pictures too. Great adds when they will come.
