General Pre-Release Discussion

Right… editing your post then responding to me like this makes me realise I’m wasting my time responding to you here. You need to understand other people can have opinions, other people are happy with the generic airports, you’re entitled to your opinion, but you need to grow up and respect that. You can’t go around saying things, then editing them and calling people a liar. Doesn’t work.

Exactly. 4 proper airports a year and then a group of these too will be great, plus ease for the devs to test new features which we can have fun with and experience is brilliant too.

The generic airports is just additional three to the game, it will not affect the quality of the game, but gibve the players the possibility to play their hometown airport even if the do nto live in Amsterdam or Hong Kong, nothing less nothing more. Why is anything what is absolutely volluntary such big deal?

How has this still been going on for 200+ posts :sob:. If we still get 3-4 realistic airports per year, I don’t get what you have so much against generic airports that you cant just skip them and play the realistic ones. If you dont like them thats completely fine. Just dont play them. Were arguing about this like its politics.

But Charlie did you see the message i send a few above. Before you guys stated that the generic airport was fully imaginary and now it has become CNN. And as i stated before the taxilayout is quite different from IRL CNN. The maximum size class CNN can fit IRL is E but in game we are getting D. Like imo its just not close enough to call it CNN. I know generic airports werent gonna be 100% accurate but imo rn this generic CNN is maybe a maxium of 20% accurate. Making the layout a bit more accurate doesnt take that much time i feel like. And the layout is so important for the way an airport operates.

A lot of content in the game are voluntary, but if we simply ignore these voluntary content because they aren’t really matching the standards then the problem isn’t going to go away. In this case CNN will still not be CNN for as long as we ignore it. Since there’s not much to do to change CNN, we are just hoping the method of doing generic airports to be changed in the future, by picking an underrepresented airport first, not matching the airport after it has been modelled

It’s all explained so clearly, you have to be stubborn. CNN is just the approximate location of the official site selection. Before that, the official selection can be placed in any similar corner of the world,And add some relevant destinations, this new model, why do you insist on being different from CNN? It is said that he is the first universal 3D airport. Do you understand what universal 3D means? It means that there are no real airport buildings, so the bridges and E-class belong to the real category. Plus, it is still called a universal 3D simulated airport?

Don’t you understand the basic principle that this airport can have more new gameplay modules tested in the future without affecting the game subject?

Ye you are not getting the point.

The LAYOUT of the airport and the MODEL is imaginary, that’s what was discussed in the Devblog 27 conversation you were referencing - the generic airport model isn’t based on an actual airport. It’s an imaginary layout/model to be used with the label of a real airport. But that’s how the generic airports project was described from the start.

I get your point but it won’t make any change as the airport is what it’s supposed to be. It’s a generic airport, akin to a prefabricated building. It’s been built and it will be placed where it’s required. If the airport selected is bigger it will be added to. It’s not meant to be CNN. It’s a ready built airport, put at CNN’s location as it would take up too much development time to make it properly. I likely won’t be able to change your opinion and that’s okay, you seem more reasonable than other parties, but it is what the devs said it was going to be and that makes that point irrelevant, but your point regarding E gates I agree with, the airport should be able to accommodate the size it irl can, and the rest of your point regarding the airport looking more like CNN is moot. It’s just the generic airport is exactly what it was designed to be.

It is fun isn’t it

You really have to be serious. The right to choose currently does not belong to us players, and this system is still being perfected. The decision-making power lies with the game production team

When Its completes it,Isn’t it good for you to create your own exclusive airport once it’s perfected? You have to choose CNN seriously and not follow the layout configuration of a real CNN. what are you doing? It is said that it is a simulated airport with basic takeoff and landing and ground support conditions, independent of the real 3D airport playable map

im gonna say it again, you are not getting the point…

I think everyone should just stop this nonsense. Be grateful for the work the devs do for us, and if you want to play the generic airport great, if you don’t want to then don’t. Just stop the nonsense and enjoy the game my friends, this game is one of the best around but why do we need argue amongst the fan community?!

Again be grateful for the Devs work. And I hope they keep up the FANTASTIC work

Thank you! How this has gone on for 2 days over 200 posts is beyond me

What is usually a peaceful forum has turned into a warzone over one thing that can EASILY be ignored…

Everyone should stop arguing, the same two points are being thrown around here like a pinball machine. Just wait until release day and see how the rest of the non forum community reacts to it.

One thing to note though, will the game itself inform players of the new generic system and how it works? If not it could possibly lead to a bad reception from general users that don’t know the reason as to why CNN does not have the correct layout unlike the rest of the airports. If not a pop-up informing the player in game before they buy CNN that explains the generic system would be helpful.

understand, and yes — you’re right. We designed the single-runway layout first, and only afterward looked for a real-world airport that would match the design.

At this time, we are technically not able to implement fully customizable taxiways, so we need to improvise in certain areas. However, we do have some flexibility with the aircraft categories we assign, so due to the particularly open stand layout, we were able to support higher aircraft categories than usual.

The next generic airport will likely be designed with a different approach, incorporating lessons learned from this one.

Why there is only 1 ERJ aircraft?
