I doubt they would do Atlanta tbh, it’s just such a boring airport. I wouldn’t be surprised about Amsterdam, Dubai, maybe Chicago, those sorts of things.
Amsterdam I reckon could be a real possibility, though it’s likely pushing the scale the game can run at atm. It’s got a really interesting setout, combined with large cargo and pax ops. Plus, if the devs put a couple of the overwing jetways in as the last were only removed a couple of years back, it would add an extra titbit. Chicago I feel would be like ATL, O’Hare is massive and could potentially work but I feel there’re better hubs around like Minneapolis, Midway would be hell
. Dubai I feel would be boring as sin and constantly having traffic issues. Maybe the new DWC when it’s opened but that would likely be even more intensive than ATL, and the majority of other big Middle Eastern airports look like MCT but with a new skin so would feel a bit pointless.
It may be a boring airport to you, but the change in elevation on taxiways and all the concourses, also being the busiest airport in the world, plus could add the delta museum like the USS midway at SAN, makes it very exciting for me and I’m sure lots of other people. Wouldn’t be surprised at all.
Also the diversity of aircraft, Delta with the 717 (not in game but could pair nicely with an ATL update) and 767 from Delta and Latam, plus cargo
I mean you get 767s at all airports, and the museum I doubt basically anyone would notice. I would love to see SEA, but it wouldn’t be interesting , even though it has much of the same things that ATL has at a slightly smaller scale
And I would be EXTREMELY surprised because they have rejected it several times in the past.
Only the sky — and the slowest supported devices — are the real limits
We still need room to grow as a game.
Even with HKG, we are already close to the technical ceiling, and it will be difficult to introduce future content that meaningfully raises the bar without excluding a significant portion of players.
For more context, please refer to our article explaining why we have not added an African airport yet.
I’m still sitting firmly on the Delta hub at Minneapolis hill, plus Northwest could be the second local. Would fill the North and centre USA, is a cool airport setup and isn’t too big/small. Atlanta would be good if you like throwing aircraft in and out, but it would just be Delta dominated with a pinch of Spirit and MSP ticks all the boxes for the 717/MD-90/DC 9-50 ops.
I suppose if you introduced AirTran and maybe Eastern or something it could be a little better, ATL that is, but pre-2010 airlines is a bit of a dodgy area as to if they’ll be seen.
Seconded on SEA, it’s got a similar setup to FRA but without the bits that make FRA interesting. An airport in that region I feel would be fun would be Vancouver or potentially Calgary if we’re moving a bit east, allows for Canadian airlines whilst also not being too far out for all the US local connections.
I do have a bit of a query actually regarding HKG, is its performance better or worse than IAD? As I recall you saying Dulles has the most crashes for an airport (I can’t recall where but I’m positive I remember it
).
We dont receive so many complaints about HKG like we do for IAD and LHR but the load is stil growing on HKG so we will see.
I still think that ANC and HNL are the two most interesting American Airports remaining, though I am partial to Denver just because of the amount I’ve flown through it, though I think there are more interesting airports in the US to pick from (Boston Logan is high on my personal list).
If they ever do Denver… they need to make an easter egg for the demon horse!
If we were to get another US airport (although personally I believe three is enough, and I’d much rather see Canada or Mexico for North America, but that’s just my opinion), I’ve really come to think MSP would be the way to go, precisely for the reasons you mention - it’s still a major hub, but not as crazy big and busy as ATL or LAX, and geographically it would fill the map between IAD, MSY and SAN nicely. It also seems to have solid number of international connections for people who play with realistic contract networks.
yes ANC with the waterport would add new challenges in the game play (Twin Otter with floats) or Martin Mars or finaly space for Boeing Clipper ![]()
You are speaking my dream airport for WoA right now, @Charlie !
Charlie you’re going to spark a lot of speculation with this comment and I know you know that
Any chance we’ll see the Short Sunderland included (Personal favourite flying boat
)??? Loads of wacky possibilities with seaplanes.
Yeah same with ATL but southwest instead
Been saying this a while, got seaplanes too which they can add in an update. Very good well rounded airport!
I was referring to ATL and meant to write Southwest
. You can tell I’ve had a long day.
Both Vancouver and Calgary have spectacular scenery too as well as more de-icing and potential snow removal.
I think if it follows 3 airports path per year (not counting generic ones), one around the Christmas could be a large airport. Cannot say if that will be the biggest ever in the game, though.
I would love to do that one
