ICN - Incheon 🇰🇷

Incheon Airport employs a strategic runway usage distribution to optimize air traffic efficiency:
• Runway 15L/33R: Primarily used for landings, especially cargo flights, due to its proximity to cargo terminals.
• Runway 15R/33L: Mainly serves departures of passenger flights.
• Runway 16L/34R: Mostly handles passenger flight departures.
• Runway 16R/34L: Primarily used for landings.

:counterclockwise_arrows_button: Dependent and Independent Operations

Runway pairs 15L/33R and 15R/33L, as well as 16L/34R and 16R/34L, are considered dependent, meaning simultaneous operations require coordination to ensure safety. However, independent parallel operations are possible between the two runway pairs, allowing for simultaneous takeoffs and landings without mutual interference.

:chart_increasing: Flexibility and Efficiency

This allocation strategy allows high throughput and efficient traffic management, accommodating both passenger and cargo operations, while also adapting to changing weather, traffic demand, and operational conditions.

This is really quite sad.

I can’t say there’s a direct connection, but sometimes when a new airport is released, new aircraft models are also updated or added (though not always). Since Korean Air / Korean Air Cargo operates the B748, there’s a slight chance it might be reworked — especially since it’s still a first-generation model.

Funny to see how many new accounts suddenly popped up just to vote for one airport or another.:sweat_smile:

If ICN is confirmed, I think the players will be so excited.

It would be really cool to see the planes being handled at terminals 1 and 2, concourse, and cargo terminal.

Also, As you can see in this Jeppesen chart, it would be really spectacular taxiing to runways from each terminal :heart_eyes:

:airplane_departure: Incheon International Airport (ICN) has an excellent geographical balance connecting Asia, the Americas, and Europe, providing players an ideal opportunity to expand their global network.

ICN is optimized for strategic routing and hub operations through various air routes that connect not only East Asia but also North America, Europe, the Middle East, and Central America.

=========================================================================
:globe_showing_asia_australia: ICN is an airport with very high strategic gameplay potential.

Short- to long-haul routes and complex traffic flows, various gate options and MARS systems (Multi-Aircraft Ramping System) supporting ICAO code F aircraft, and four runways enable deep strategic gameplay that goes beyond simple airport operations.

This provides substantial benefits for expanding short- and long-haul routes or building large airline networks. It provides a solid foundation for achieving various in-game objectives, such as short- to long-haul aircraft transportation and high-efficiency networking between players.

========================================================================
:south_korea: ICN will accommodate air traffic encompassing various regions and cultures, allowing various players in the World of Airports community to continue their long-term support and positive participation.

A wide range of users, including Korea, Japan, China, Southeast Asia, the Americas, and Europe, will operate various flights in East Asia, North America, and Europe through Incheon International Airport, allowing players to participate positively in the community and deepen their affection for the game in the long run.

In addition, the high global awareness of Korea and ICN due to the K-content and the Korean wave (Hallyu) will benefit the influx of new players. Therefore, ICN will be an iconic airport that can be easily accessed by various users worldwide.

=====================================
:airplane: ICN provides the perfect geographical balance to the aviation network of the World of Airports. It will provide players with new routes and challenges by establishing strategic routes that connect various continents around East Asia.

If you think about it, Incheon will reach its 25th anniversary by March 29, 2026. One of the few major hubs built from scratch in the 21st century. It would be significant to mark such an event, perhaps by adding the airport to the game.
You could say that GRU airport also marked its anniversary with the release.

I think it’s just an on-going voting system, and they’ll add airports from top rank down depending on if they meet the criteria the devs desire.
