I totally agree.
Some people don’t want “blurry bullets” on the runway, but they apparently like planes treated in 3 or 4 minutes (small planes).
While I agree that game experience varies from player to player I think that bigger airports like SYD o LHR or IAD (faster Ls to reach the stands) are way too slow. You can do everything manual, but it doesn’t add to my experience. Or I’ll play a 90 minutes football game on a console which is, you know, not a thing. Maybe a speed choice can be good if possible. I agree with many of the idea here proposed. Maybe high speed exits will solve some of this issues.
I’ve been ranting on this ever since 2.0 launched. The high-speed exits aren’t being used properly and, as you said, with the low handling times, it’s impossible to fill the airport. Someone said the high speed exits are actually being mentioned by the devs, so I’m super-excited to see that!!
Sorry but high speed exits are not the panacea people think they will be.
Think about in the whole time of the arrival sequence just how much time those take up. 5%, 10%, 15%.
So no, high speed exits will not solve the empty airport issue. Yes it will get aircraft off the runway a little faster, sure and that will help, but as soon as they are done aircraft will revert to normal pacing, so whatever you gain you will likely lose some of.
Plus I say again, even if you get them all off the runway super fast, you won’t have enough equipment or handlers to manage them all. So yes you can have a bunch of planes parked but most of them will be doing nothing. Already have that in MCT where the pace of dual runway ops has increased planes on the ground significantly but even with 158 handlers, still have a ton sitting around doing nothing.
Then the question becomes what do you do?
Increasing handling times still gives you the same problem. Lots of planes not enough equipment or handlers (unless you want to buy a ton)
Speed up exits on the runways only partially helps.
In order to solve the perceived problem, you have to fix all the stages. Landing, rollout, taxi and handling along with coordination with departures.
Yes the devs are listening to folks and looking at the high speed exit issue, but let’s not kid ourselves that’s going to solve the other issues. It will not and that’s why i say it would need a major rewrite to fix.
I know many won’t be happy with this answer because of the fixation on the one issue, and I’ve said it before above, but it’s a much bigger thing and one piece is not going to correct it as much as you want it to.
Honestly I disagree. Even a 10-15% increase in landing speed is helpful. That’s 5-6 more planes per hour, or 10-12 at lej and mct.

I don’t think high speed exits on their own will generate 5+ additional per hour. While I stated 10-15% on my post it wouldn’t apply to the whole arrival sequence so at best you might get 2-3 extra total. More is better, but on its own not enough.
