Today I went back to LHR after almost 8 months, a few shots of my LHR that is always full.

50 years ago, January 21st 1976, commercial operation of Concorde began, with BA deploying it on the LHR - Bahrain route, and AF on the CDG - Dakar - Rio de Janeiro route. They were retired 27 years later, in 2003.

Such a loss for aviation when they were retired. The maintenance costs just couldn’t be covered by BA alone and the accident combined fact that Air France never made a profit on theirs meant they didn’t want to bring them back into service. I feel we’ve gone backwards in aviation . Lovely photos.
