AeroBlue thanks its partners for a succesful holiday season
It’s christmas time…
“This Christmas we transported way more passengers and cargo than in the last years. The major reason for this is the broad connectivity we build up with partner airlines over the past months. Furthermore, we profited immensly from our membership in Flexi Alliance that allowed us to expand our route network to major hubs such as Washington (IAD), Sydney (SYD) and London (LHR). Therefore, we as AeroBlue were able to satisfy the great demand of passengers over the holidays at our hub at Santiago (SCL) with many scheduled extra-flights.”
These words coming from the CEO of AeroBlue underline how efficient the airline’s operations were and still are in the current days. A short report from a spotter at Santiago who captured plane movements on Christmas Eve visualizes the great amount of flights coming from several airline partners and destinations that were handled that evening:
The role of partner companies and Flexi Alliance
“While other companies such as Sonic Airlines reduced their flight schedule to a minimum in order to give their employees a break we at AeroBlue do not know such words! We stand for efficiency and reliability towards our customers. Even in the holiday season people have places to go, be it their families or friends and some of our passengers also still have to commute to their workplaces. We are here for you, we are AeroBlue. But what would we be without our partners in aviation? They are the reason why we can operate so smoothly, they carry our network and are a major part of our companies pride. We are thankful for every single contract we were able to establish with other airlines in the last months. Our membership in Flexi Alliance helped us once again to assert ourself against other big companies such as LATAM or JetSmart and to remain profitable.”
In context of the current (holi-)days this statement emphazises the importance of cooperation in order to guarantee a flexible yet reliable flight program. Only with the help of its partner airlines AeroBlue was able to provide such a diverse flight plan, part of which is shown in the photo underneath:

Presents are here!
“Our subsidiary AeroBlueCargo, also known under the acronym “ABC” is not exactly a major part of our strategy for the Santiago hub. At Christmas time however, we need every single plane in our fleet in order to fulfill the high demand of various packages. But even that is sometimes not enough, which is why we used a leased Boeing 777WF on our Cincinnati-route for the first time. Thanks to that we were able to not only transport the regular goods but also heaps over heaps of presents - Much faster than Santa Claus could ever be!”
As stated above, AeroBlueCargo expanded its operations immensly using various plane types that do not serve Santiago airport on a regular basis, with the Boeing 747-8F on the Washington-route being the highlight. On a normal day one would not be able to see the whole cargo apron full of AeroBlue planes, that is why the company released the following press photograph:

Personal words from the CEO
“We were quite successful with our strategy to build up a network with partner airlines. Not only can we benefit from this, others do profit from stable and reliable connections too! Our hub continously experiences expansions and quality improvements to attract new business partners which we are always looking for. Currently, we have about 15 free contact slots at Santiago that anybody is invited to fill.”
“Again, I wholeheartedly thank everyone who took part in building and maintaining connections this year with special thanks going to Flexi Alliance and its members! We at AeroBlue are eagerly awaiting the next year and all the joy it will bring for the whole community!”
