SkyStaffextra News #6

SCL or MCT?

The CEO of SkyStafextra asked the community kindly for a choice between SCL or MCT. A poll says, that 48% are for MCT and 36% for SCL, the other 16% couldn’t decide.

So: Why MCT?

MCT is one of the biggest airports in the Middle East, with Oman Air’s hub, we can reach many destinations.

About our fleet:

We can extend it to any airport in WoA! That means we can easily farm XP and get big progress. Our only problem are unique arrivals. Mostly, they are E planes. We have 1 Apron E stand and rn we have 8 unique arrivals in the contracts.

“Those big boys are stealing crew and equipment for the smallers, but they give us a massive XP bomb.”

In the forum post SCL or MCT, @CJ_RVWilliams, @Matejake , @Jogi747 , @Thatflyerguy and @Hirohitoswaifu discussed and explained, why MCT or SCL is better:

@CJ_RVWilliams :

MCT is the only airport in the game that can connect to every playable airport, and a large chunk of these are doable with C planes. If you’re okay flying CRJs / ERJs / F70s primarily for B, then you’ll get what you want. If you’re looking for more prop B connections I’d stick in Central Europe.

The main advantage of SCL is that it has an incredibly fast ramp up time when you start a play session. The taxi times from landing to gate are quite short in general, and the airport is a newer and nicer model. SCL with its overlapping stands will also allow more C planes to park at once I believe, but I’d have to count to confirm that. SCL also has a nicer (and newer) model.

Neither of these airports utilize many remote stands, though I think SCL has slightly fewer.

@Thatflyerguy :

MCT has better connectivity, but SCL is VASTLY more fluid and fun to play. It is the only airport i have played all the way to maxing out without getting tired of it. It is probably one of the smoothest operating airports in the game, which is not exactly the reputation of MCT haha. MCT tends to be a massive pain to use because of the absurd taxi times around the airport given the unfortunate runway config. i would personally very much recommend SCL over MCT. The main downside from your perspective will be the fact that it has significantly less connectivity at the B/C class levels than MCT, but I will say I never found that to be a significant limitation.

I shortly summarize:

MCT reaches all airports and is massive, cargo hurts and it’s old, but for B & C it is cozy (what I wanted :distorted_face: )

SCL is way newer, has combined stands, better cargo than MCT, but it’s bad for B and C class, bcz GRU is only airport reachable (SXM too).

DM Airlines news: PRG at a standstill, ZRH connections delayed and more 787s

For almost three days straight, a substantial portion of Prague’s stands has been occupied by planes with expired contracts. At one point, 23 of these planes were blocking almost a half of the available stands, including most importantly all of the widebody-capable stands. This caused over 100 delays and flight cancellations on the affected days. Most of the contracts have been resolved by now, and operations are now back to normal since March 12.

(Pic. 1: Planes waiting for contract renewal at PRG; March 11, 2026)

DM Airlines has postponed the start of its Zurich flights. First connections to the Swiss hub were planned to start at the end of March, but due to insuficient infrastucture and fleet capabilities, the start of the Zurich connections were postponed to the second quarter. Plans to base up to 100 DM Airlines planes at ZRH airport are still kept, although the timeline is now uncertain.

(Pic. 2: Proposed livery for DMA’s Zurich-based fleet, inspired by the Swiss flag colors)

The Boeing 787s are quickly becoming an important part of DM Airlines’ long-haul fleet. 25 787s are now operated across all of DM Airlines’ bases. Most are based in PRG (18), with a couple more based in BKK (5), but after almost a year-long pause, the airline is now also basing two 787-9s at its Muscat hub. The first, registered A4O-EWB, is operating mostly on the route to HKG, in cooperation with @Air123 since the start of March, alongside other aircraft types including the 757-200. The second airframe, only delivered yesterday, will be operating on the route to GRU through @AeroBlue’s hub. There was a 787 based at DM Airlines’ MCT hub before, but after a relatively short service on the MCT-BKK route, it was moved to the BKK hub in order to facilitate more HKG connections from the growing South-East Asian metropolis.
