SYD - Conversation

I suppose the second runway is too short to be used for very large jets like A388 or A124. But I am very glad to have two runways working independently and the infrastructure at SYD allows ATC to do so. This is also the peak hour operation mode.

Interesting thing I found guys. Japan airlines’s heavy 787 just landed on runway 16L

Delta A359 too

I think this thread is more for the SYD in game. It could be made related to the operations in-game, but I feel these two post would better live in Aviation Talking Point.

This runway can handle most cat E jets. It only cannot handle those [super] jets. Mostly I see some international narrowbodies to use this runway but yes large jets can land and take off here.

I don’t think 747-380 can tskr off or land there

That runway should be only accessible for cat E aircraft so yeah A388 and B748 cannot use this runway.

I’m not sure about B744 but maybe it is not possible as well. The length is slightly over 2km if I did recall it right.

Knowing the devs they’re gonna make it simple,
RWY 16R is gonna be for everything international terminal wise and maybe even the two south aprons
And 16L is gonna be for everything domestic

I’m not sure if it can irl, did look into it but couldn’t find anything definitive and I didn’t really have the enthusiasm  . But you can in game send a 747 off that runway, I have a Qantas one to Perth I pop into the domestic terminal and it uses it with the same length as an A332.

Heres a preview of what the new syd looks like in case you havent seen

first thing I noticed is now you can see the Sydney skyline during the takeoff, also there seems to be a few extra remote stands.

New skyline, pity the background still looks like a landfill from a PS1game  .

The terminals have had a fresh coat of paint by the looks of things, . The port has been modeled in with a container ship docked and the canal seems to have some new colours. The motorway also looks like it has some extra trees added in on one side. Can’t see any new stands so we’ll just have to wait and see.

I honestly don’t see much difference

Neither thats what concerns me it doesnt seem like much of a remodel it looks more like a touch up here and there

Honestly as long as we get more levels, those additional stands, some more own power taxi out at the F stands and F10 and F11 don’t block each other again, I’m good

Syd has more stands now below the tower so i hope we get them aswell as a new taxiway

I dont think it was ever really supposed to be a remodel. The terminals themselves look up to standard with others that released post 2.0 so that isnt really a problem. Its just that it was missing gates and a couple other small details. And also that video only showed T2, and the main changes that needed to happen were in T1 and T3 with some missing gates and incorrect sizes so maybe when it comes out and we get to take a closer look we’ll see some changes.

Well the 4 stands on the Jetstar concourse on T2 next to the Virgin concourse were limited to B class which I hope they have updated to C.

In their words it was called a remodel so remodels have standards and up to date features like

Correct stand size and more stands which have been added like
