SYD - Conversation

A bunch of these will not be added, at least for a while. For example, the devs are no longer adding historic liveries, and the air Niugini a220s and 787s are not to enter service for a while.

Wait, are you sure? They explicitly said that?

If that’s true that’s completely ridiculous, not only are you cutting off a ton of possible liveries, there’s already tons of historical liveries in the game

Yeah just asking why would they do that?

But there are tons of new, current liveries still to be made for all the airports.

Personally I’d rather see the devs using their available time on bringing new models into the game and remodel some V1 models as well as adding liveries/routes for airlines currently flying to SYD and other playable airports that are not yet available. So that it’s as realistic as possible.

As for the historical liveries and planes currently in the game. Wouldn’t make any sense to remove them now.

I think you’re misunderstanding. Im talking about liveries that are recently retired (in the last 10-15 years to give a range. Such as Alaska’s Q400s or A320s for example).

If the devs limit themselves to liveries that are only currently flying in this moment, they are cutting themselves off from adding a lot of unique liveries. Which just makes no sense.

I’m not talking about Ansett or other much older liveries, I just threw that in there just for fun.

The problem is they’ve already added pretty much every livery to SYD that is currently flying, as far as S/M aircraft go, which is what the list I made was targeting. If you want anything else, you’re gonna have to go back in time a bit.

Which is again why if that is true, I find it to be a poorly made decision

I agree with this. I also think that limiting it to only airlines that fly IRL to SYD is a bad decision. We aren’t getting another Australian airport in all likelihood, so this is our chance to have these other down under airlines we won’t see elsewhere.

I agree it doesn’t make sense, but they have said several times iirc that they aren’t doing it

When you guys say historic liveries, do you mean old liveries for airlines like united/continental livery it’s historic airlines pan am or bmi

Not currently in service

Air Nuigini does fly 757-200 or B788 or BCS1/3
they fly the b737, B767 not currently in the game, you could add the A220 since they are replacing their fokker fleet with A220s and they are i think getting either a A359. I lived in papua new guinea and flew between sydney and port moresby most of my life so i know the liveries and aircraft they fly, and plus can a dash 8 fly that far with a full payload ???

They are getting A350s and not 787s

Air nuigini has like 4 liveries in the past and so i think keeping them as special liveries would be good but not as contracts

Wait what?

No they arent

B757 was retired in 2014, the A220 and B787 haven’t been delivered yet. But since the devs have already added liveries that are both retired or not in service yet, it’s totally reasonable to add them.

Not sure, let me do the math:
SYD to POM: 1944 mi
DHC8 range: 1200 mi
So no

No they’re definitely getting 787s

oh nevermind then. i thought they were but nvm, but also the devs should add the plane liverys and route anyways since they have added plenty of non existing routes

As much as I like the retired liveries, whether it is from 5 years or 25 years ago, my point was there are so many existing aircraft, liveries and routes currently not in WoA for INN, BRI, PRG, IAD, NGO, SAN, MCT, LEJ, SXM, LHR and SYD that I prefer the devs to focus on bringing those, before starting to add retired liveries and planes.

But hey, this topic was SYD - post release discussion and I think we’re more or less hijacking it with this discussion. Perhaps should move this to a different threat under the Ideas / Suggetions section

Will the devs change like stand sizes for SYD and also if REX does go bankrupt will they take the airline out?
