SYD update please?

That was probably the plan, but plans change. With only 6 months remaining this year the chance of that happening is now slim to none.

It seems they were preoccupied with other features and changes like the A350 and A320 rework, alliances, etc.

I’d take the A320 rework over 3 new airports, as it affects a huge portion of the traffic at existing and future airports. Doesn’t mean I’m not excited about SYD though!

I know exactly who he is, we are good friends. He’s on discord, forum and Facebook.
He’s a fellow admin on the World of Airports Community Facebook page, admins Cult of the Second Runway official Facebook group.

He is an mod/admin here on the Forum but tends to let me and others do the posting here…
So yeah. I know…

I’m aware  I was clarifying for others

Yes and this was their plan so I would say I feel confused in relation to the progress of SYD.

All of us should remember we have seen models of SYD very early this year (I have mentioned on this forum few times). So my initial guess was this April or May and that is not an overwhelming one considering devs plan.

I am not that kind of person to say “Do you mind to explain this?”. But such significant change in the roadmap is undeniably confusing to players, I feel most players including me are happy to wait but we’d like to be informed. I have also mentioned proper and detailed communication is gold so I do wish devs can tell players what has actually caused this situation (specifically the reason they overestimated how many new airports in this year).

The other thing to consider too is, let’s say they did go through with that plan and we would get 3-4 airports this year.

Consider the amount of time and effort it takes to make just one airport. I mean certainly the modeling partnership helps, but it doesn’t mean they can just pump out new airports. It’s still like a 3-4 month process that more or less dominates a single update.

So if we did get those 3-4 new airports, it would have come at the expense of getting other cool new features like alliances or making much needed fixes like the A320 rework or the taxiway fix. So yes, while getting that many airports sounds great, it’s honestly just not realistic to begin with. A healthy game has to find balance between adding new things and improving existing ones

This is personal opinion, but I would much rather them spend more time with visual and gameplay fixes like reworks as opposed to pumping out new content. IAD for example is still in desperate need of some love.

Maybe the people who are developing WOA have other software developing projects and/or other jobs as well? I think so, because earning enough for a living for a group of developers with just one app like WOA seems unrealistic to me. Would explain the “delays”…

Well I think they would probably have jobs aswell and WOA is a part time thing
And I think SYD will come out in November just seeing that Heathrow did the same.
Also the 3-4 airports a year was a big task. Don’t be mad as this isn’t there life. They probably have jobs kids and partners. But hey 1 airport a year isn’t bad tbh.

Not only is he also in World of airport Fans Tomas Mordon is in all the world of airport groups because I am in all of them. We are also a great community almost all over the world and he is aware of all those groups and suggestions.of all the players who are there. And thanks to him it was possible to fix many errors that I reported since I mentioned them and today many are resolved.

The change of course is due to the fact that there are many improvements in the game and those improvements and that new interface that they launched, the reconstruction of IAD, the construction of SYDNEY, the bug fixes, the Retraction of aircraft landing gear gears really takes time. And if they were released like this without testing them, I’m sure it would open a lot of complaints and they want to give us a good gaming experience.
