A Dedicated 1-Year Request: Bringing Pakistani Widebodies & Full Fleet to Muscat (MCT)

Dear Developers, Moderators, and WoA Community,

I am writing this today not just as a standard feature suggestion, but as a passionate player who has spent over a year advocating for realistic Pakistani airline expansions at Muscat International Airport (MCT). Muscat is one of the best regional hubs in World of Airports, and the connection between the Gulf and Pakistan is a massive part of MCT’s real-world identity.

I completely understand the moderation team’s stance regarding route lengths and daily regular schedules. However, I respectfully ask you to reconsider bringing Pakistani widebody aircraft (PIA Boeing 777 / Serene Air A330) to MCT for a few key reasons:

1. Real-World Heavy-Demand & Seasonal Widebody Flights

While narrow-bodies (A320s) carry daily traffic, Pakistani carriers frequently upgrade their fleet to widebodies (PIA B777-200ER/300ER and Serene A330-200) during peak travel seasons—such as Eid holidays, summer rushes, and heavy workforce transfers. In real life, high passenger density on routes like Karachi (KHI), Lahore (LHE), and Islamabad (ISB) to Muscat easily justifies full-capacity widebody flights regardless of distance.

2. High-Density Short-Haul Precedents in WoA

World of Airports already features short-haul widebody flights across regional hubs (like Gulf-to-Gulf routes operated by B777s and A380s). Widebody aircraft are not only used for long haul, but also for short routes with high passenger volume—which fits the Muscat–Pakistan corridor perfectly.

3. Proposed Compromise Solutions

If permanent daily widebody schedules don’t fit standard criteria, please consider:

Seasonal / Special Event Contracts: Introducing the PIA B777 or Serene A330 as high-demand seasonal contracts.

Full Narrow-Body Expansion: Fully enabling the medium-fleet routes (Fly Jinnah A320, Airblue A320/A321, Serene B737-800) alongside PIA and AirSial.

A Personal Note to the Devs

I have been continuously supporting this game and making this request for 1 year because I love the potential of MCT. Seeing a PIA B777 or Serene A330 parked at the gates of Muscat alongside our local A320s would make the airport feel complete and mean a lot to players from this region.

Thank you for your time, patience, and continuous hard work on the game!

While I agree with your point, it’s not something that is limited to PIA, but a broader systemic “issue”, and the forum structure doesn’t exist just because, suggesting features the correct way is the best way to go about it.
We know that a demand system overhaul is in development, which could potentially also enable routes like these.
Just because it hasn’t happened yet doesn’t mean it won’t happen in the future, a year really isn’t that much, especially considering all the features, airports and airplanes that we the players request and the devs want to add.

I’ve mentioned it before in response to your previous requests but nowhere could I find any evidence that anything bigger then an A310 was used on the Muscat to Pakistan routes. Only once is there a recorded PIA 777 landing at MCT and that was due to an emergency. I don’t know anything regarding Serene or Shaheen but I do know Shaheen used to use their 737-200’s on the route in the early 2010s.

However, as Luca has said, it is a broader system, something a lot of airports are lacking such as the inability to have 757 on short haul routes in NA like at MSY where the airport sometimes gets a 757 on routes from Atlanta and IAD to MSY but can’t be recreated in-game. Also, BA’s 757’s (We don’t have the regular yet) and 767’s were used later in life in the 2010s on routes into Europe, something we can’t do irl. Cathay operates A333’s and 773’s on routes into China and into Southeast Asia, another thing which can’t be done. Lots of old cargo routes and current ones with large cargo aircraft can’t irl be done either, both at HKG and at other airports. The A330’s that operate from Sydney to Melbourne are also missing.

I could go on but the point is, it’s not a Muscat/Pakistan airline focus. It would be unfair for the devs to prioritise your ideas where there is no freely available evidence (I have said before if you have evidence of regular flights on the route, please provide as it helps the devs) for these large types being used, when other airports have overwhelming evidence to show widebody usage on short haul routes which players have also requested. I’d like to see large aircraft at MCT myself as per the Qatar, Etihad and Emirates but I think the realistic missing types should get priority and we’re still yet to see them.

I completely understand and acknowledge that in real life, Pakistani airlines do not currently operate regular widebody flights to Muscat.

However, if we look at other airports in the game—such as those in Japan, London Heathrow, or Thailand—Pakistani airlines do not officially operate real-world routes to all of them either, yet those connections exist in-game (with Muscat and a couple of others being exceptions).

My request comes purely from a place of deep passion for the game. I have invested a massive amount of time at Muscat International Airport, and it holds a lot of special memories for me. That is why I have been persistently reaching out to the WoA community, the moderation team, and the developers for so long.

My sincere wish is simply to see even just one or two Pakistani widebody routes—for example, connecting a hub like Lahore to Muscat—enabled in the game. Muscat Airport means a lot to me, and seeing this addition would truly mean the world. Thank you for listening to my request!

I am going to join the conversation by adding that in Japan it is common for JAL or ANA to use their wide-bodies for short haul flights just because of the demand. I do not knopw if NGO has those contracts or not but I do know of the fact that Japan does use wide-bodies for their domestic flights.

With airports that have wide-bodies doing routes that narrow bodies use, I think is just for the rewards system on the game. i know while playing ZRh that there are like 4-6 different wide body contracts i can have that serve narrow body flights but they are not in game. I agree that the wide-body short haul flights (that exist) should be added to the game.

Not sure if you know, but there are probably 10x more players than just you wanting the same thing as you for different reasons and different areas in the world. I do get your passion for this but you must understand that the devs cannot just flip a switch and just implement your ideas. If the devs were able to implement everyones ideas, then they would be flooded with posts and emails begging them to add their favourite airport, route, airplane and airline. It is just going to be forcing the players to be needy.

Just like that Hiro said, You would need to show evidence of pakistani wide bodies using that route as if it does not exist then why should it be added?

Thanks again for the breakdown and insight!

Just to clarify, narrow-bodies like the A320 are already active for this route in-game, which is why my suggestion was specifically centered around widebodies to represent the massive regional passenger volume.

MCT is genuinely my favorite airport in World of Airports, and I spend most of my playtime here. When playing, I notice widebody aircraft arriving from almost every other region into MCT, but Pakistan doesn’t have a single widebody option represented. It feels a bit disappointing seeing all those large gates filled while our region has zero widebody presence in-game. Even if the devs could eventually enable just one single widebody route from any Pakistani city (whether Lahore, Islamabad, or Karachi), it would bring immense joy to the Pakistani community and make the airport feel complete for us.

That said, I want to be 100% clear that I am not trying to force anything, push the developers, or ask for special treatment. I completely respect the dev team’s hard work and understand why system-wide consistency is necessary. I am more than happy to be patient and wait for the upcoming Demand System Overhaul to see how things evolve.

Thanks again for joining the discussion and taking the time to share your perspective!
