This game is made by aviation fans for people who share the same exact passion, not only that but it is advertised as being a realistic game so I think expecting something to be a bit more realistic is not too crazy

Your logic still doesn’t hold because you’re assuming every premium seat “replaces” economy at a fixed 1:4 or 1:5 ratio, which is far too simplistic. Cabin layouts aren’t linear like that. A35K high-density layouts like French Bee’s 480-seat config prove the fuselage has the raw floor area for very high occupancy. Once you introduce 20–24 First and 40–50 Business, yes, total capacity drops—but not automatically down to “300 max.” That’s a huge exaggeration. For example, if you start from 429 (Air Caraïbes) and reallocate around 80–100 economy-equivalent spaces into premium cabins, you still land in the 380–410 range, not 300. And that’s before accounting for smarter galley compression, staggered premium layouts, or tighter 9-abreast economy pitch. Your argument depends entirely on current operators being the ceiling, but airlines build for profitability and branding, not maximum realistic density. Saying “it will simply never be possible” is disproven by the fact that the A35K already operates near 400 seats and has enough cabin volume that adding premium sections does not mathematically force it down to the low 300s. Your estimate is based on convention, not actual spatial limits.

To be very fair a flagship aircraft isn’t always exactly a plane variant that outsells another variant of the same family but rather a plane type an airline thinks should represent the maximum potential in service, comfort etc. and that is used on an airline’s most prestigious long-haul route which fits the A350-1000 more than its smaller but more versatile brother.

My lord this thread has just turned into one hell of a disaster since I last checked it earlier this morning.
Throwing insults around is just unnecessary, and the fact that this is over the seating configuration of an A350 is genuinely just absurd. I’m going to lock this thread if it continues. I invite the original poster to make it as a gameplay suggestion, so they are able to get their point across and it isn’t overshadowed by the unnecessary bickering that’s going on here.

Not to worry, they’ve been suspended for a couple of weeks, I’m not having people insulting others for simple sharing their opinions. There is actually something else that post has brought to my attention that needs to be addressed.
Although I will lock this thread if anymore issues arise from it, to prevent it from spiralling out of control.

I appreciate we have a different opinion on this one, which is fine.
The main raison for me using current operators as an example is the below (in italic) quote from the opening posts. If someone finds something that is unrealistic then i would be the first one to support him/her. However if you think something is unrealistic and then come with an argument to cramp in as much seats as possible in a premium configuration (24 first, 48 Business is a very premium heavy config) it does not make any sense and this is underpinned by the current operaters where non of them comes even close.
This means that simply attempting to create a realistic premium configuration causes the aircraft to lose approximately fifty to sixty seats compared to what they should realistically carry

completely fair. I am just going off airbus’ public declarations, in which they refer to the A350 family as their flagship. for individual airlines that operate both, the 5k is typically flagship, and for those that operate only the 900, that often is. It is a flexible standard though, i agree.

And i would go further. Nearly no aircraft in this game has a realistic seat configuration, as far as i can remember, only the BCS3 and the A321NY have somehow realistic configurations (BCS3 C12Y115 and A21NY 20C170Y). Some other configurations are feasible (like the B77W), but not in line with real life economics or current configurations with 1-2-1 Business Class seats.
Also, the limitation on how much premium capacity you can add into a plane makes the game and some routes quite difficult to maximize.
