:pushpin: Why should this airline be added?
Air Malawi Limited was the national flag carrier of Malawi, established in 1964 after the dissolution of Central African Airways. It served as the backbone of Malawi’s civil aviation for decades, offering vital connections between Blantyre (BLZ), Lilongwe (LLW) and destinations in southern and eastern Africa, including Johannesburg, Harare, Lusaka, Nairobi, and Dar es Salaam.
The inclusion of Air Malawi would significantly enhance African regional diversity in World of Airports, a region currently underrepresented. The airline operated aircraft like the Boeing 737-300 and Dash 8-Q300/400, which are already featured in WoA or closely related to existing models. It would add realism for future African airports (e.g., Lilongwe International - LLW or Blantyre - BLZ) and strengthen gameplay connections across the Sub-Saharan network.
While Air Malawi ceased operations in 2012, it remains historically significant as a long-serving African national airline. Including it would honor the aviation heritage of Malawi, providing a nostalgic and educational element for players interested in aviation history, especially in emerging markets.
