A beautiful movie about my favorite airport

I think we have a lot of Dutchies flying around here.

Yess!! I would say it’s time for Schiphol!
Love this video, did any other airports make this too?

I never knew AMS was built on reclaimed land. Very cool

The name ‘Schiphol’ comes from “Scheeps hol” which is translated to something like “Ship hell” or “Ship graveyard”. People are not sure about the origin of the name exactly, but at least it has something to do with ships because it indeed was a lake before.

It is. Actually, it is 3,35 meter (10,9 ft) below sea level

Must be fun to see the altimenters on planes get confused about a negative altitude :joy:

Well, what about this airport then:

Bar Yehuda Airfield

World’s Lowest Airport : Bar Yehuda Airfield

The lowest altitude airport in the world is Bar Yehuda Airfield, located in Israel. Just south west of the Dead Sea, it lies 1240 feet below sea level, which is actually deeper than US Navy submarines are allowed to travel.
