[ATC] - Improve Runway 27 Departure Procedures at San Diego (KSAN)

:bullseye: What is your suggestion?
My suggestion is to adjust the departure procedures at San Diego International (SAN) so that aircraft taxi all the way down to the end of Runway 27 before lining up for departure, instead of lining up just past the displaced threshold.

:hammer_and_wrench: How would it work in the game?
From a gameplay perspective, departing aircraft at SAN would follow a slightly longer taxi route, continuing to the full runway end before beginning their takeoff roll. This would align the in-game taxi and lineup behavior with real-world operations. No UI changes are required; it would simply update the movement logic/pathing of departing aircraft at SAN.

:balance_scale: Why is this a good idea?
This change would bring more realism to San Diego operations. Since SAN has a relatively short runway, real-world aircraft always use the full length for departures. Replicating that in the game would improve immersion, create a more accurate simulation, and better reflect the unique challenges of operating at SAN. For players, this also adds extra capacity for more taxiway usage when departing high volumes of aircraft out of SAN, and avoids blocking taxiway entry-points for inbound and departing aircraft.

The red X and circle show the current in-game behavior, where aircraft line up just past the displaced threshold. The green arrow and path highlight the correct real-world procedure, where aircraft taxi to the very end of Runway 27 before departure.

Hoping devs can implement this small fix eventually! Especially since we won’t see any US airports updated anytime soon! It’s also worth noting that most heavy aircraft need at least 8,000 to 10,000 ft of runway for takeoff and the San Diego runway is only about 7,000ft where aircraft are currently taking off past the displaced threshold (in-game). Doesn’t really add to realism when 777, 787, etc, are all taking off past the threshold with only about 7,000ft of runway which is totally unrealistic to what’s seen in real life!
