Aircraft landing should be assigned any of the three runways at random rather then what’s current in game.

Change Cargo stands D321- D328, L411-417, L421-L427, L431-L435, X451-X456 & X458 & X459 to mixed PAX & Cargo stands. In real life its used to park both PAX & Cargo aircraft
Create a new maintenance expansion (shown in purple in the image) create a tow from stand to this maintenance section where they would perform maintenance rather then instantly on the spot.
How would it work in the game?
Please see the attached image for revised taxiway
Red route indicating after an aircraft land, how they would taxi to their respective stands after landing. (This will need to create cross runway at certain point to get across to the other side)
Blue route indicating how a departing aircraft would taxi to any of the the runways.
Change CARGO only to PAX & Cargo for stands D321- D328, L411-417, L421-L427, L431-L435, X451-X456 & X458 & X459 so players can park aircraft there and leave them there if they liked to make the airport seem fuller.
Create an expansion for maintenance maybe for player’s aircraft and maybe expand to other aircraft in the future.
Why is this a good idea?
This will bring realistic HKG operations to the game.
Make airport seem fuller by having aircraft taxi across the entire airport.
We should soon have wind controlled runway operations at the airport so this would be subject to change. I also think this would be detrimental to the airports current operations likely slowing things down. Though I do think you’ve done a fab job with the post and if we ever get the ability to dictate where we wish an aircraft to go, this would be a brilliant idea, utilising more of the airport than we currently can, though I feel we may see it first at a smaller airport if this is even something the devs could implement without forcing a chunk of the playerbase out of the game due to the strain on their devices.
I think, when that does happen, let’s say we hypothetically keep the above layout for 7LCR then maybe flip the operation for 15LCR. In the meantime, I’ll also take a look at 15LCR operation on flightradar24, but it’s not often, as far as I’ve seen
From the 3.3.0 release note, all I saw was multi-directional taxi routes, not fully custom routes, but please share the link if you did see it somewhere else.
I can understand some mixing, but landing a cargo aircraft on the northern runway to taxi south will massively delay the game. Also you’ve got runway crossings involved which in the current set-up you’ve not.
I would say that the current runway configuration is better, especially when we get wind changes.
Please note that your taxiways also are using some taxiways in both directions which will lead to issues with coding i expect.
well in reality, you don’t get to choose what approach and runway to land on. You’re expected a certain RWY from the ATIS, and you setup for the approach. So in reality you will land 7L and taxi all the way and cross other RWY.
Same when taxing out from south cargo, aircraft have to cross 7R to depart from 7C.
Aircraft landing should be assigned any of the three runways at random rather then what’s current in game.

I don’t want to see aircraft landing in 3 spots and then taxiing throughout the whole airport by default. This would massively slow things down. The thing I love about this airport is it flows well, stays quite full, and has really good connections. Slowing it down will just make it more painful from a gameplay perspective.
Change Cargo stands D321- D328, L411-417, L421-L427, L431-L435, X451-X456 & X458 & X459 to mixed PAX & Cargo stands. In real life its used to park both PAX & Cargo aircraft
I am all for the change to combination stands for the ones you mentioned. The more flexibility in how I build out my fleet the better.
Create a new maintenance expansion (shown in purple in the image) create a tow from stand to this maintenance section where they would perform maintenance rather then instantly on the spot.
This is something that I’d love to see for all airports that have those sorts of maintenance pads.
The downside for not making aircraft taxing around the airport will make the gameplay unrealistic and one of the bigger problem is queue for takeoff is crazy long blocking taxiways for landing aircraft that’s going to the extended cargo area especially once you have 400+ contracts with 450 crews, turn around will be a nightmare since there’s so much aircraft that gets pushed back
You might say delay pushback, yea but
That makes it somewhat unrealistic, JFK in real life would have aircraft’s lined up on adjacent runways and taxiways making the airport gridlock
With Ground controller activated, pushback is initiated once services are complete, so it will get clocked up again if you have high amount of aircraft/contracts.
Right now I have to doe 1 arrival per every 3 departure or more to clear the congestion and it takes a while for it to clear up, next thing you know my airport is empty…
That isn’t what I experience. My guess is you are batch handling - waiting till everything lands and then handling all at once to flood the airport with pushbacks. I play without taking breaks to let planes land, and I’ve not experienced this at all, for me I never see queues, especially not that long, and it flows well.
It’s not the game that makes an airport feel empty, it’s the player.
My answer is indeed delaying pushbacks. Having a line of waiting planes might be realistic (depending on the airport), but so are slots. Look at flightradar; how many are really queueing?
It does mean you can’t use the automated ground controller, unless you delay the handling instead of the pushback.
This way, whether you play in sessions or continuously, there’s always life at your airport.
to make the gameplay more realistic, you fill the airport maybe 3/4 and then start the services.
but you come across two problem.
for players with 400+ crew, its easy to turnaround planes within 15 minutes, that way you still keep the airport somewhat full, but eventually you run out of planes and the airport empties.
if you allow 1:1 ratio, youre airport will never be full or somewhat full. there for i currently have 2:1 ratio or 3:1 when my airport is low or empty.
Well hopefully the split handling will help
Personally I don’t like a plane landing and not being handled when it’s ready to be handled
Planes don’t come to a gate and just stand there with passengers and cargo on board
