:bullseye: What is your suggestion?
It’s getting repetitive using only one landing and one takeoff runway in the game. My suggestion is to activate both runways at LHR for simultaneous landing and takeoff operations, just like in real-world scenarios. This would make traffic management more dynamic and exciting. By dividing terminals between the two runways, planes can land closer to their gates, reducing taxi time and increasing realism.

:hammer_and_wrench: How would it work in the game?
Here’s a simple system: divide the airport terminals between the two runways. Planes landing from the north runway (Runway 27R) serve Terminals 1, 2, 3, and 5; planes from the south runway (Runway 27L) go to Terminal 4 and the southeast terminals. Departures can alternate runways based on volume or be runway-specific as well. This system reduces taxi delays, spreads out runway load, and introduces a layer of strategic planning for the player. AI pathing can be slightly updated to accommodate runway-to-terminal assignments, and players can even choose which runway to assign per flight.

:balance_scale: Why is this a good idea?
It adds realism. It adds challenge. And most importantly — it adds fun. Managing traffic with two active runways creates a richer gameplay experience, mimicking the real LHR where runway coordination is a key skill. Right now, the game feels too linear with the same repetitive pattern. Imagine the thrill of deciding runway priorities, planning efficient taxi routes. Dual-runway operations would breathe new life into the game — and many of us would love to see that happen!

CONCLUSION:-

Let’s be honest — we’ve all reached that point where the single landing strip setup feels stale. The game has so much potential, and this change would make a massive difference to both realism and replayability.

To the Devs: You’ve built an incredible foundation, but now it’s time to evolve the system. Dual-runway operations are not just a “nice-to-have” — they’re a necessary step to keep long-time players engaged and to match the complexity of real-world airports like LHR.

To the community: If you agree, drop your thoughts below, add your voice, and let’s push this idea forward. The more support we show, the higher the chance the devs will see the value in this UPGRADE!!

Let’s wait and see how the scheduling system works, It’s supposed to alleviate some of the issues with contracts.

But LHR usually uses one runway for landing and one for departure. The devs are just trying to simulate real life.

Personally I still think increasing handling times will also help greatly since most planes handle quicker than the the actual movement of the aircraft
