[ATC/UI] - Ability to choose runway on take-off/landing

:bullseye: What is your suggestion?
I would like to see the option of choosing any runway (available) with takeoffs and landings. You could potentially turn it off if you only want the most optimal runways to be used

:hammer_and_wrench: How would it work in the game?
Next to the take-off/pushback buttons, you could choose from which runway you want that aircraft to take off/land at. The most optimal ones would always be shown first and to choose any other you would need to change it manually (possibly from a drop-down menu). After choosing and clicking for pushback, the aircraft would taxi to the runway that you chose instead of the system that stands have assigned runways which they use.

:balance_scale: Why is this a good idea?
It would be great to have multiple independent runway ops, especially at big airports, such as IAD or BKK, where if you only have a part of the stands unlocked, you could ease off the pressure on the busier runways. It would also allow more planes to land/take off at any given time because you can choose to make all runways to only be used for landings/take-offs specifically. It could also make use of wind direction for potential shorter/longer take-off rolls and landings, or even crosswinds (if that could be added).

The idea is great, and the runway choice has already been mentioned.

I thought to make a new thread about it since the post you linked was really just about LHR, and I wanted to expand it to all the other airports as well.

Well, maybe you’re right that it mainly concerns LHR. But in my opinion, it might also apply to airports that have parallel runways — I’m not sure about PRG, but places like BKK could be a possibility.
After all, if the system is introduced, it makes more sense to roll it out across all airports. If it’s added only to LHR, there will definitely be a lot of questions and requests to bring it to other airports as well.
Even if it does end up being LHR only, it would likely serve as a test phase before rolling it out to all other airports.
