[ATC/ UI] - Delivery Manager-Scheduling System

:bullseye: What is your suggestion?
Suggestion for the Delivery Manager to include a checkbox to allow only assigned planes to be allocated stands. This means that any airplane that is not assigned a stand in the Planner will not be assigned any stand by the Delivery Manager, keeping the stands available for use by other planes (which can be manually assigned by the player).

:hammer_and_wrench: How would it work in the game?
This checkbox/ button will be included in the Control Tower, under the Delivery Manager. Something like a toggle button with the ‘Prefer favorite airplanes’ toggle. The delivery manager will then work as per current mechanisms, just with the filter to only assign planes that are in the Planner of the Scheduling system.

:balance_scale: Why is this a good idea?
This will allow players to filter out contracts that they do not need to land/ handle, allowing for more control over aircrafts that will be assigned stands. For example, players that have map contracts that they wish to keep (for memory or any reason) will not have those planes occupy stands for their fleet planes.

This will also not affect players who do not play with the Scheduling System, as they just need to not turn on the toggle to have the Delivery Manager work as per current mechanisms.

That’s not called random allocation, it’s a backup parking spot when your fixed parking spot is occupied. The tower will prioritize other available locations.

It can be disruptive. Like at CNN, I have player planes at 1-6 and AI planes 7+ and the AI planes keep blocking my D player planes. If it only did assigned stands, I’d have a good balance of player C/D planes sharing stands.

Yup, as per my suggestion, with the toggle, the delivery manager will not automatically assign the AI planes to 1-6 even when they are empty.

Hi, I did not mention random allocation anywhere in the suggestion - could you elaborate on how you got that idea? My suggestion is to optimize the experience such that planes are not mistakenly allocated stands.

For example, a player may only want to deliver 100 planes out of 200 contracts at BKK. The current delivery manager will assign all planes until all stands are occupied, which is more than 100 at BKK. Assuming that the 100 planes have stands allocated in the Planner, selecting the toggle will only allocate those 100 planes and leave the remaining stands empty.

Let me know if any part of the suggestion is confusing!

Where is the mistake in the allocation? Let me ask, you have so many flights scheduled for one place. If they land at the same time, they will definitely be allocated to other alternative parking stands, right?

But they aren’t scheduled to get there then. The plane that’s scheduled to come 20 planes later sees an open stand, comes before it was even supposed to take off from the other airport, and blocks a shared stand or overloads your runway.

That’s exactly the point! We don’t want those planes to be allocated to any parking stand if they are not in the Planner. This is so that our operations are streamlined only to the planes we have planned and scheduled. Glad that other players are getting my drift.

For your use case, where you want planes to be allocated any alternative parking stand regardless of the Planner, you can simply not turn on the toggle and it will be the same as it is right now.
