Auto assign specific terminals/gates to airlines for better realism

Hey everyone,

I wanted to bring up a suggestion for an improvement that I haven’t seen discussed much in the community, so I thought I’d start a thread.

How about adding a feature to the auto-assignment system that lets us dedicate specific gates or even entire terminals to certain airlines or alliances? This would be a huge boost for realism.

For a stickler for detail like me, this is a massive quality-of-life thing. At airports like Heathrow (LHR), the divisions are super clear (T5 is all IAG, T2 is all Star Alliance). If we could set rules to assign airlines to their real-world terminals, it would make recreating a realistic airport so much more efficient!

And before anyone says it, yes, I know you can manually assign a gate to each flight. But as a hardcore player who spends hours in this game every day, I think we can all agree there has to be a better way.

As a sim player who tries to recreate everything with real-world accuracy (I even match flight numbers and aircraft types from reality), this is a feature I’m desperate for!

What do you guys think?

P.S. The devs even modeled the Star Alliance logo on the T2 entrance at Heathrow, which is an amazing detail! It shows they care about this level of realism.

Suggestions like this need to be posted in Feature requests > Gameplay, and this has already been requested:

It should be possible with the new scheduling system that’s reportedly in development.

I was gonna hold of on talking about this before we get some more info on the Scheduling feature coming but agree with this post. All I’m hoping for is the option to assign contracts to a specific terminal and have the delivery controller assign the stands randomly.

From what I get from the the last dev blog, the scheduler seems to let you assign contracts to one specific stand, so that means that plane will park at that same stand everytime. I know we don’t have more information and I’m probably wrong but that’s the impression I get.

As someone who also tries to mimic real life, I know as well that planes are (usually) never assigned the same stand by standard and is (usually) different depending on the day and airport.
Another option would be to assign a plane to a stand but have an option to randomize it like the contract generator.

Also with this new scheduling system, have the option to maybe buy a contract as a route and be able to adjust the frequency by means of maybe purchasing an amount to have more be scheduled in a day. With that being said, we could also adjust the speed in which a day goes by so we won’t have to wait for a plane to land that is supposed to land for example around 4pm but won’t land until 3am because the day went by faster than the planes turn to land comes.

Sorry for the rant lol

I fully agree. I manually assign all aircraft to match real world. This would be a tremendous upgrade
