Guys please don’t start an argument.
I will say this though, big airports like BKK, LHR, SYD are overall better for the game. People like larger airports as it means more L/X planes to buy and larger fleets. From the Devs view larger airports bring in more players as more people will have visited, live there ect. Well maintaining a player base is important so is bringing in new players as they are more likely to spend to fast track their progress to get 747s A380s ect. The Devs already try to account for older phones by adding low graphics and small airports and by not adding new flashy airports to boost popularity and adding smaller airports It would ultimately make the game lose popularity as the small airports will grow stale quickly and less people would download.

Back on topic looking at the airport layout do you think they might split it like MCT and have both runways used for takeoffs and landings.
I feel like this would make sense and that MCT was the trial run for this type of layout and how people would react to it

No that not a good idea, pre 2.0 one was used for takeoffs and one was used for landings but after 2.0 they kinda ruined the airport by adding the same runway layout as SYD (as far as I seen on YouTube)

I’m going to push back on the big airports are “better for the game.” It’s better for MARKETING the game. Those aren’t the same thing… Variety of experiences is what’s good for the game, in my opinion.
I don’t know anything about BKK - discussion of what might actually come with BKK is what threads like this are for. So for folks who know I encourage them to share! I personally see a lot of potential, even if it isn’t my preferred style of airport, in BKK:
- 3 operational runways? We do know that before DEL was put on indefinite hold that 4 operational runways were being worked on. Perhaps BKK is a good stepping stone towards that in a future airport for the devs.
- M plane connections to NGO. This has been a request of mine for a while! Excited to see it.
- New M connections from MCT as the distance is only around 2500nm. Finally I can send my M planes to not Europe
- New airlines? I’m sure of it. There’s got to be something local that we don’t already have lol.
In short… is BKK what I want? Not really. Is it going to be good for gameplay AND game marketing? Absolutely.
A quick aside to the discussion on performance, and I say this as someone who has a phone that is expected to stop seeing iOS updates with either iOS 19 or 20 (2025 or 2026).- The devs should not let old devices hold them back. They should make the game they want to make while striving to keep as many devices sill receiving OS updates adequate to play the game, but not letting those devices handcuff what they want to do.

Ah yes I keep forgetting about the third runway. Although it is not operational yet it will be by the end of this year so they will probably add it. Maybe it will be two for arrival one for departure???

My personal thought on this, is I don’t want the airport to have the same runway operations as MCT, primarily because part of what makes playing multiple airports interesting is managing the different runway configurations. I want it to have a quirk… not just be a copy of MCT or IAD or any other airport.

I agree(ngl I kinda like iad the way it is) but I think that the mct runway system would be very useful for syd(also syd operates like that irl sometimes)

I semi-agree but having a clunky and ineffecient layout is the primary reason why MCT wasn’t played as much by the community pre 2.4. I don’t want that same fate to come to BKK aswell. I can see where you’re coming from though

Ok this is cool and all, but… much rather would have seen the IAD rework before anything new.
This means very little to me when one, we just got a huge new airport a month ago and two, there’s still other airports that pale in comparison to the new ones. It’s just disappointing
