It would be great to have El Dorado Airport… since in the game you can see a large number of people from Colombia and other Latin American countries who would like to have an affordable airport in their country, and develop the shipments of their own planes to the internationally enabled national and local airports of said countries, thus generating a flight connection from their locations… I thank the administration and developers for having this idea to implement in South America, Central America and Latin America.

I wish this airport would be added in a future update. Who wouldn’t want this airport to appear in the game?

I’m sorry to say but me. It very much looks like a reversed SCL but for Avianca operations. There’re more interesting airports in the region which I feel would be a lot more fun to play at with more unique layouts. If a dual runway airport is of interest then Panama City would be a better choice due to its offset runways and unique terminal buildings, or an airport like Curacao for those holiday charter flights and having a full set of taxiways with no backtracking, or San Jose which involves aircraft having to cross the runway to then taxi to the end, adding more complexity to operations. Its a more unique airport than some suggestions on the forum but I feel there’re better choices :slightly_smiling_face:.

Honestly I can say the same about HKG and ICN, they both kind of have the same thing going only ICN is a bit bigger and has an extra runway…

Panama City isn’t very varried as it’s main operators are Copa and WIngo with some additional traffic. Curacao, I’d actually wonder how the devs would incorporate their stands as they have a LOT of shared stands between E and B planes

That’s the issue with some airports. Great if you want an airport you can fly your own planes in and out of as they’re streamlined and you can get lots of your fleet in and out, but if you’re like me where none of that is of any interest to you and you like liveries and airlines and the variations as you say, they’re not great. Panama City I agree isn’t very varied but at least you have that interesting airport to look at. Curacao would be great for that reason. Varied E-B Class ops with wacky stands haha.

I used to live in Curacao so I know lol

And it’s gotten busier over the years so I’m curious to see how the implement it.

It’s also an airport where (I know they don’t want to) add military and coast guard OPS

Curaçao would also be interesting since one of the iconic airlines, Insel Air, operated there and I still remember it. I would like them to add that airport as well, along with this iconic airline.

They could create a new thread if they want to talk about that airport; this thread is about the El Dorado Airport in Bogotá.

Insel Air is one I’d love to see in-game, though we could get it at SXM as they were quite iconic with the Mad Dog’s buzzing the beach there. Same reason with Avianca’s MD’s which would also be great to see for SXM, if they were added though with the Fokkers and such it could make Bogota a bit more interesting.

Thought I’d add an image of the airport so people could view it without a link,

I presume people can see what I mean about a slightly differently shaped SCL but it also appears to have less stands available for pax and only a nominal amount more of cargo.

However, I would be interested if the devs rolled it back to say 2009 or earlier as the airport had an abundance of 727’s, 737-200’s, Mad Dogs, DC-10’s, Fokker 100s, 747 classic freighters and more unusual special types. Just look at this here

Plus its layout in regards to the terminals is much more interesting, though you likely have lost a couple of stands and definitely lost several cargo ones. There seems to have been a big push within the last 10-15 years to modernise everything, with airports becoming squarer and more alike to each other. This 2009 layout is a lot more unique and adds that initial attraction to playing

The terminal complex,

I should give one of those map things a try with this airport…

Bogota Airport. An ideal airport. But will it be too complicated for the airport taxi system?
