Can't open long-haul routes

I’ve had a whim to open some routes from LHR to Australia and Oceania and planned to unlock the B77L with gold planes specifically for this purpose.

However, for some reason the game won’t allow to open a route which it projects as not profitable, and for yet another strange reason, no long-haul routes are profitable for B77L. Think ADL, MEL, SYD - all are in range, have suitable runways and huge demand, yet no seat combination will move them out of the red.

Is there a way to make these long-haul routes with own planes possible?
Otherwise, what’s the point of having a long-range plane in game when it won’t allow you to make a long-haul route?

The 77L looks like it has the most range of all the planes, but due to fuel costs it actually cannot go to as many destinations.

I think the 789, 744, and 77W are some Boeing with long range. The A35K and the A359 also have long ranges - they can go from IAD to SYD.

Check out this support post about configuring planes: Problem: I can’t send my A388 (Example) on a flight – it shows no available contracts

Thank you for the tip.

The routes I’ve mentioned, at 9000+ nm, are one of the longest possible (at least from LHR) and one of the few outside the range of jets you pointed to (A35K is pretty close after seat configuration, but still outside). That’s why I thought the 77L, as the only plane in the game that has them in range, was actually intended to work such routes, but since no seat configuration makes it profitable, I guess that’s not the case.

Apparently serving those routes with your own planes is currently not possible in the game, and unlocking the 77L has no practical use? Pretty disappointing, but that’s how it looks to me right now. At least I found this out before I spent my gold planes on it :upside_down_face:
