[Cargo] - Preighters

:placard: Passenger Freighters ‘preighters’

:bullseye: What is your suggestion?
Preighters should be added to the game. Preighters are passenger aircraft operating as cargo flights by removing seats and replacing them with smaller non pallet cargo. This is different from P2F aircraft as no physical changes are made aside from removing seating.

:hammer_and_wrench: How would it work in the game?

How Would They Work:
Current passenger models could be used and be sent to cargo stands, once at these stands the plane would be unloaded normally on the bottom deck. The top deck can be unloaded by either catering trucks or by a combination of stairs and cargo conveyors (see bottom). These preighters would require a longer handling time due to individual boxes needing to be moved to the catering trucks.

Player Fleet
A player could pay a small fee to change their regular passenger aircraft into preighters. After this fee is charged it would now operate as a cargo aircraft. These preighters would hold less cargo than true manufacturer or P2F cargo planes. The player for a similar fee can change the preighter back into a normal passenger aircraft and continue normal operation.

AI contracts
Preighters can be bought as regular contracts from different airlines providing they’ve operated them in real life.

Operators include:

  • Hifly - A380, A343, A332, A321
  • Emirates - A380, B777
  • SpiceJet - A343
  • KLM - B777
  • Korean - B773
  • Kenya Airways - B788
  • Iberia - A332
  • Lufthansa - A343, A346, A332, A359
  • Scoot - A320
  • Alitalia - B772
  • Singapore Airlines - B773
  • TAP - A332, A321
  • Virgin Atlantic - A359, A35K
  • British Airways - B772
  • SWISS - B772
  • Ethiopian - B789, B773, A359
  • Austrian - B772
  • Cathay Pacific - B773

:balance_scale: Why is this a good idea?
Would allow almost all aircraft to (somewhat) operate as Freighters like the A350 and A380 meaning more cargo flights. Would allow for better in depth fleet management. Doesn’t require much effort as it doesn’t require new models.

So that would mean that there is an A388F (A380-800P2F) in real life right?

Bro, that A380F has been cancelled and the A380 has now been discontinued so i highly doubt it will be coming.

No, the A380 preighter is just a regular passenger one without the seats. It’s not a P2F, a true P2F requires seating, bulkheads, and overhead lockers to be removed as well as new fire suppression systems installed and most of the time a upper deck new cargo door is fitted aswell.

OK, I understand that now
